You are right, the R is a fun road car. I was not lucky enough to get one. This time I'm getting a PTS .2 maybe with touring Pack if available , This way I can daily drive it without getting weird looks while pulling up to valet. For sure I will track it on the weekends. Where else can I go 140+mph without killing people around me. Not going to the track, is like not having sex with your 10+ model GF. I don't want to be just holding hands, lol
I received email confirmation from my Porsche Center today that the Touring Package will be available on the GT3. The reliability of this source is usually quite high, as also the news of the new "911T" came from there and was in the last 2 weeks confirmed independently.
There is no question that is a 991.2 GT3 without a wing. Given the BB number plate it's very hard to refute that this product is coming, who knows what they call it.
why oh why didn't they take even one pic of the interior?!?!
all these pics show is a standard 991.2 GT3 without a wing. I note that it has chromed headlight washers.
I see no other differences, including with trim (it's still matte black, not chrome or satin Aluminum as has been rumored for the touring package).
From the exterior pics, you can see this car has LWBs, and consequently no back seats. So if this is the genuine article, then it would seem Touring Package won't be sofas only.
You can't see from any of these pics though what interior differences there are (no alcantara? Special pepita inserts on the seats?...)
Looking at the rear more closely....
- no scoops
- small lip spoiler
- 911R style black mesh engine cover
- thin wide CMHSL across top
looks kind of plain in these pics, but that has more to do with lack of PORSCHE script and model designation on large flat surface and also GBM color, which is a bit bland.
It has chrome headlight nipples but black trim around the windows. Seems odd.
yeah im thinking same thing. Which begs the question which of the two is likely to change. Since no 991.2 GT3 has chrome headlight washers, my guess is that is intentional and this is a preproduction version for which maybe the black window trim hasn't yet been done in eventual chrome.
Looks like it would be easy to switch the rear deck for track days to a Porsche Motorsport cup wing. Only 4 bolts and a quick connect for the rear tail light.
Just noticed... there is also a chromed accent strip on the top of the front lower air ducts, in addition to the chromed headlight washers. This would seem to confirm that the Touring Package will have chrome exterior accents.
I bet the final Touring Package will also have chrome trim around the windows instead of black, and possibly even chrome PORSCHE script and model designation on the rear, too.
