I think you are correct. There are no other location that I know of where where PORSCHE would place the DRL other than the current location. Photos taken in basement can be deceiving. Here is a GTS in the same color.

Are you blind. It's is nothing like the Sport Design kit. And BTW all of this is not news. It's been published/noted before earlier in this thread and others.
I received email confirmation from my Porsche Center today that the Touring Package will be available on the GT3. The reliability of this source is usually quite high, as also the news of the new "911T" came from there and was in the last 2 weeks confirmed independently.
