Drivetribe is probably describing the same thing we're all thinking about for porches "purist" car: https://drivetribe.com/p/porsche-is-...R4mwwghjbi3VkQ

I just hope it's not later in the line up and it's a gt3 option not a completely new model. A new model means an all new list!

Guess Drivetribe doesn't know the R had a 6spd?

Missed out on the 911 R? Not to worry as Porsche is prepping a similar version as a regular model.

With a naturally aspirated engine and a manual gearbox, the 911 R was a purist’s delight when it was introduced at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. However, availability was quite limited as Porsche made only 991 units as a nod to the codename given to this generation. Unsurprisingly, the model’s value skyrocketed later the same year as a fight commenced between collectors. Someone in Norway deciding to slap a hefty $770,000 price tag while another 911 R owner had the audacity to ask $1.25 million for a model that originally had a starting price of $184,900 in the United States.

You won’t have to pay the exorbitant premiums some 911 R owners are asking to have a back-to-basics Nine Eleven as Porsche has revealed a purist version is on its way and this time around it will be a regular production model. In other words, it’s not going to be built in limited numbers as it was the case with last year’s special edition.

The good news (well, maybe not for 911 R owners) was disclosed by Porsche’s R&D chief, Michael Steiner, while speaking with Autocar on the sidelines of the 2019 Cayenne’s reveal. It’s unclear at this point whether the new variation of the 911 is going to be based on the current generation or it will be launched for the 992-gen model coming towards the end of the decade. Considering the existing car still has plenty of life left it in, there’s a good chance the "less is more" flavor will be out before the 991.2 will be put out to pasture.

It’s far from being the only 911 the folks from Porsche are working on taking into account the rumor mill suggests a limited-run Speedster will be unveiled later this month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In addition, a GT3 Touring Package is believed to be in the offing as well and we know for sure an updated GT3 RS is on the agenda.

Porsche is plotting the launch of a “purist” version of the 911 that will be available as a regular production model and not just a limited special like the 911 R.

Speaking to Autocar at the launch of the new Cayenne, Porsche R&D boss Michael Steiner said the firm sees “potential for more purist versions of sports cars with no limitation” on production numbers.

Last year’s 911 R was created as the ultimate 911 for the road, much as the GT3 is considered the same for the track. It focused on simple driving pleasure rather than top speeds or lap times.

Steiner said it is important for Porsche to have 911s that are “fun on the road, not just on the track”. On the 911 R, he said: “What we learned is that there are more and more customers who enjoy pure, fun-to-drive sports cars. Porsche always has some limited as well as unlimited sports cars. For pure sports cars, there’s no need for limitation.”

Steiner wouldn’t confirm if the new simplified version of the 911 would be added to the range in this generation or the next, but with the all-new car at least two years away, the model is more likely to be destined for the current generation of the 911.
So the 'Touring Package' and 'Purist Car' might be two separate entities, or their might be no Touring package, just the purist car, but can the purist car really have the 4.0, can Porsche meet European emissions standards with it? Many questions. Whatever, my hype for Frankfurt reaches new heights!

Or touring package and sporto classico. Either way, I'm happy with the gt3 manual if my allocation officially comes through.

Update from cleaning lady that looks better in heels then a cleaning lady: 911T is real, Carrera based with turbo engine, positioned somewhere near the S, stripped down to present as "purist car" priced close to S price with less options. Not to be confused with Touring package on GT3, Speedster or Classico etc.

If she is wrong she will be sacked.
