This sale price is as expected, they sold over 500 X 720S in the UK, this is way too high for a £250K car.

The first ~150 cars were launch edition with lots of punters feeling lucky enough to be able to get hold of one and thinking their money would be safe.....unfortunately not, they would make as many as people ordered and then some more to force dealers to buy and move (discount),. The market for £250K cars is not that big, there are a lot more car enthusiasts with £130K.

For "normal" times pre 2012 depreciation is it so bad ? a £220K list (before options) car is worth £130 after 2 years, that's 23% pa depreciation, surely about the norm ?

If any of these UK Macs are LHD and prices are so different then why not import them to the US? What’s the 720 price range in the US (preferably selling prices, not listed)?

Doubt you could get them through US DOT/EPA and if you could cost to convert would eat up any savings.

Note that on Collecting Cars the buyer also pays a 6% surcharge as the website's commission.

I took a quick cursory look, and a 720S with more mileage (~10k miles) but same vintage (model year 2018), low 200k (this is asking price, of course). So at least the ask in the US appears to be a bit higher.

Interesting Mclaren discussion featuring Andrew Frankel and Dan Prosser:

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas...sprout-3613216

Frankel is a terrific freelance journalist who combines the industry intel of Georg Kacher and Greg Kable with a strong road testing legacy (he started at Autocar). Prosser is also a freelancer and cut his teeth road testing at Evo. They are collaborating on a new Instagram venture, entitled DriveNation.

Whether or not he is a YouTuber or not is irrelevant. The information was largely factual which lead to some pretty reasonable conclusions.

I for one am disappointed. I really love the 600LT but from a financial standpoint the RS is a no brainer and I would feel like an idiot buying an LT knowing all these issues. I love the RS but was (past tense) considering an LT for a change.

But is it not good to buy a two year old 600LT in the future for half the price or around?

I am also seriously thinking of a preowned 600LT in the future?

I've driven the spyder and really liked it. I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up...the question is how long do you wait and what price are you looking to pay. I agree that the 2-3 yr. window is probably the sweet spot, but then you have to decide whether to get a warranty or not.

If you are buying it down so cheap then one needs to factor in warranty because I would not drive these Macs out of warranty

Mclaren offers extended warranty up to 12 years for around €4000 euro per annum ($4400). At least this is what they offer in Germany.

I don't see any issues paying $4400 per annum for let’s say 3 years and enjoy the car.

This is a stunning looking 570GT. The best color combo for a Mac I've seen and the whole car looks just right:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2017-mclaren-570gt-2/

Is there anywhere a quick model comparison of all McLarens (12C, 570S, 570GT, 600LT, 650S, 675LT, 720S, ...) and can anyone suggest which year and model currently offers the best back-roads bang/$ for someone who's been using 996 GT3 and Boxster for the job? What's a good price for that BaT 570GT?

Think I read they increased prices to ~$6k/year for the warranty, but maybe not for all models.
