Above 3 things I know personally. I'm not sure why even people bring up mechanical reliability or lack of it and pit marques against one another. Hell, some people keep posting the same thing or theme over and over again.
Agree completely.

What’s ridiculous is that 80% of the commenters have never driven a real supercar, or Ferrari/McLaren/Lamborghini, but since they have a 911, cayman, boxster, they are now experts on all things auto related.

Welcome to the World of Internet forums.

Funny story: Earlier this year there was a train wreck of a thread on the MB forum with some posers. It was hilarious good fun until it got out of hand and the thread was closed by the mods.

As a joke I posted this:

"Your sig only says you have an SL 450. I'm going to rely on an old Ronald Reagan quote: "Trust but verify." If you have a 2017 SL63 and 2019 C63 S. Go to your car(s) and start them - (sitting inside), holding a spoon by the speedo/tach and take a pic. No personal info is divulged and proves you own these cars. Dash and hood overlook while your holding a spoon can't be faked or photoshopped - at least very easily. This would help your credibility (since you stated you own these cars) and would assure we're not getting punk'd. Like this."

Lo and behold we all got lots of excuses as to why the car(s) weren't there. These were pics of my car I used as an example in the thread. It was more of a joke than anything. Later became known on the thread as the "spoon test" - that was one wacky thread. One of my favorites of all time just for the entertainment factor.

So I guess the spoon test is an interim option before rolling out the dog photos.....

I can’t remember what forum it was, but I remember people doing something similar with loaves of bread on the hood of their cars. People asked each other to post pics with bread on their hood or spoiler. It was comical

agree and this is too funny.
most ppl don't even keep the cars that long
just buy one, drive it, if it burns to the ground or whatever, you have warranty and insurance.
life goes on...

570 and 600 I drove were phenomenal

Bread man is on Rennlist too, though he's been busy enjoying his new toy(s) and racing.

126 used 600 LT's on Cars.com and 620 R just announced means prices are only going one way. There are going to be some killer bargains out there next downturn given all this high-end car volume.

There will be plenty of cool cars available as Boomers leave the scene, not to be replaced by Millennials and GenZ’ers who care little about cars, much less driving, even if they could afford them.

And GT2rs' are now 30k under wholesale, gt3s are at least 15-20 under sticker wholesale...ALL of our cars with a few exceptions are taking a good chunk off the sticker. So drive the hell out of what you have and have a blast!

That's a very real and stark fact, similar to all the massive suburban homes and neighborhoods which boomer generation created which are slowly going dark as people choose to urbanize.

I do wonder how many of these car companies are going to be around in 10 years or less, especially pure sports car companies.

The silver lining is that as more people become aware of this outlook, less of them will be inclined to hoard ("collect") cars for investment purposes and more of the cars will be just enjoyed and driven. Boomers will just drive the cars they love into the ground -- go there together.

So true.

Chicago feeling this big time in the Northern suburbs. Million dollar homes just sitting there.
