I drive an M5C as daily and it is a great car . Test drove Panamera Turbo, MB E63S ,and recently Audi RS7 and M5 is a better car than all of them at least in this segment
also my son just narrowed down his choice of cars between M2C and cayman S . He drove both multiple times and settled on M2C
we can say that Porsche lost their mojo by putting a 4 banger in cayman/boxter and I love Porsche
so you have to look at cars individually

I'm not sure what Hyunday, Infiniti or Lexus (ex-LFA) would be better than an M5, M8 or similar. I also daily drive an M5C - quite a sedan - comfortable and plenty of torque. These are not sports cars, and they should not be compared to one. Back to Macs.... and sports cars.

No I've never driven a Hyundai. However, I've owned a 2002tii, an E30, E46 and currently using a E90 as a daily driver. Apart from the 2002tii and the E30, which at the time were the ones defining a class as sports sedan, the later models were not even close to the old ones that put BMW on the map. I like working on cars also, but try wrenching on a late model BMWs and more power to you if you enjoy all the hurdles you have to overcome due to broken plastic parts and electronics that self-destruct right after warranty expires. I like cars and enjoy driving as well as working on it. But BMWs are now disposable cars and people are more willing to lease instead of outright buying and owning a BMW.

Anyway, its a real shame.

E39 M5 and E46M3 were great cars, and clearly they just mass produce stuff now.

It was very nice but no Porsche. Even my 2004 40th anniversary 996 was a step up. Apart from the front lights that was a good car.

I’ve never driven 720s but drove 570s and 600LT.
How does 720s compare to 600LT in terms of driving experience?
It looks like on the race track 720s is still significantly faster than 600. But is it significantly less entertaining to drive than 600? Is it like 911 turbo S vs 911 GT3RS where the Turbo is fast but quite boring to drive in comparison to GT3RS

I do not find the 720 boring at all to drive. Drive in track mode and click through the gears. It’s an epic car. Thoroughly enjoy it.
