Another question is, how many run their track day with a full tank of fuel and carry that extra weight around.

My ClubSport do 50L per 100km at full tilt, that's 4.7 mpg. 100km is 20 laps on my track and that's 3 sessions. I never fill the tank to the top which is a 100L tank.

I refuel every session and just put in enough for each session, which is one 20L jug. It's really not a problem refuelling the 5L water tank when I refuel the gas tank after every session.
Eggsactly. Fuel and IC coolant will run out in a similar pace in this car.

I guess all race tracks and gas stations have a water hose.

And then there is the frunk: just put a suitable water container there. Maybe you can keep a couple of six packs there too.

Do you know if COTA has a hose? I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not about the water station. I doubt they have a water station, but i could be wrong.

Do tracks actually have water stations?

Cota does in the bathrooms in the garages. Plus the lounge areas.

Did he tell you what temp constitutes 'hot', and also is there a readout in the car so you know the fill level?
FWIW, even on a regular GT3 in hot weather MPSC2 tires last much less than 20 minutes of 10/10 driving before performance degrades measurably. So on GT2 RS with much more power and not much more tire patch, it's likely that stock tires will be more limiting than the water tank size. We'll see, of course. But making a bigger tank is such a simple thing that Porsche would have done it if it was really a limiting factor.

Interesting. GT3 is hungrier - the extended tank (90L) lasts ~45-50 minutes of hard driving for me (warm up and cool down laps excluded). GT2 RS should be even hungrier, so maybe 2 sessions per fuel tank.

Yes, I know the tyres need a rest, but let's just say 20mins = 7-8 hot laps of Spa.

That is not 2 full 'sessions', so you could be having to fill up the reservoir after very 4,5,6 lap session, to avoid running out in the next one.....

That's much more frequently than fuel, and a total PITA if it was to be the case. Let's hope not, and I guess no point speculating.

Okay. So theoretically, one could use those to fill up the 5L jug. But it'd still be a pain. Thanks for the info.

Yep, probably not healthy to get mad because the unfounded speculation is negative.

Maybe he had some wind at that time.
The record car had rear wing at Maximum attack with lower top speed as result!
