Yup. Half the fun is speccing the car the way you like it. Start with a clean slate....narrow down the colors and use the configurator. I think people sometimes use these polls to see which are the "rare" choices and pick that color just to be different..which is also a bit bizarre to me.

It’s insane how many options there are. It’s even worse with a regular 911. I mean there are four variations of options for the air vents (leather, leather slats, painted, painted slats), and then you can pick any color paint for one of them. Across the lines, there are eight interior trims (base Silver, painted, wood, leather, aluminium bushed, anthracite aluminium brushed, black aluminium brushed, carbon fiber) in two configurations (full leather or base).
And of course there are idiots like me who want stuff not available on the model that they want (ie wood trim on a GT3).
And the funniest thing is that the built for stock cars (and flippers) are usually pretty similar. Sure, they tend to be different colors (including wheels), and there is some diversity insofar as some have buckets, some have 18ways (never 4 way though), PCCB or Steel, manual or PDK, but looking at Camsporsche’s data, almost all have FAL, tank, bose, leather, sport chrono.
Porsche used to do preconfigured “performance” or “luxury” builds on the configurator for regular 911 maybe there is a path there for the indecisive.
But frankly, if Porsche did what every other manufacturer does and make it all standard (FAL, sport chrono, leather, PCCB, tank, bose, 18 ways, heated seats, leather backs to the seats, all the colors free) the base price would have to be north of $170k and people would lose the feeling their Porsche is special.
i think the opposite tact would be the best, if it’s available, you can get it on your car regardless of what model, and just charge a premium (like how certain options are cheaper on a GTS than a base).

if you want to have to GT2RS in Austria:
238k € net
285k € brutto (incl. 20% VAT)
376k € ready with numberplates (32% NoVA)
if u want spec like a weissach you have to add: 25 +20% +32% = 40k €
same with all the other specs and CXX..
+ 4,5k € each year just taxes if registered.
similar luxury taxes in Netherlands...
God Bless America.
(and france, germany, spain, sweden, and many more where at least "only" 20% VAT are added)
an MSRP incl. tax of 500k € is a lot for a 911.
but for the fastest 100% street legal track car on the planet - on the other hand its not that much.
