It could be argued that Porsche was negligent in only offering the LWB part, as person Z involved in a similar crash in the EU would have survived with the benefit of the CS package.
Another point against Porsche in court is that another manufacturer selling in NA is doing the right thing and supplying a complete track package.
It appears Porsche is exposing themselves to greater liability in NA, not less.

"Oh you're such a stupid driver that you flipped your 340,000 car? Well then you should not have done that. You signed a waiver at the track saying I KNOW MOTORSPORTS ARE DANGEROUS"

Maybe nobody tracks the car anyway so it won't matter.
Personally I don't see myself on track on the limit without Hans / harness / bar.
I've done it, dont want to do it again.

Definitely should drop mirrors in US to save weight. Few here ever look in them - and when they do, a lawyer's face magically appears in the reflection. Gotta own it. :-)

Let's hope they build enough for everyone and this isn't a limited edition that only the 918 guys will get. Got my order in the system and fingers crossed.

What clear answers are you waiting on? Pricing and options are known. Specs are known. EU cars first as always. 918 customers before everyone else in US as always. First real US allocations are March 2018. Not numbered production. Only thing we're waiting on is an official Ring time and whatever the number it will have virtually zero bearing on those considering a purchase.

I haven't heard a word from the one in Germany. So waiting on him to see what he says. I want a German spec and import it. That's far easier to do than sitting here. Too many other rivals come out. By the time thing comes the new Mclaren LT will be out and I think it would have lost it's luster by then.

I think if your dealer hasn't filled you in with a ballpark vehicle spec and timeline then they probably aren't planning to get you one. My guess is 80% of those getting a 2RS already know it.

So my .02c
I think I will skip on the GT2RS unless Porsche helps me to survive a crash.
If not, I might as well get a AMG GT Black series. For less.
Or maybe the next GT3RS and make my own safety again.
Sad.

18 mth wait from launch to delivery based on March allocation roll out makes the car old news at that time. I have too short of an attention span to sit around with cash that long.
If the stock market crashes between now and then it will be a return to GT car discounts. So much for AP not running a hedge fund - should have delayed launch until they were ready to avoid taking a long position on the market.
How many ADM card do you think dealers could get stuck with? Karma can be a bitch.

Just relax and drive what you have. On my third GT3/RS and never waited less than a year for any of them. Blessing in disguise because the last thing you want to do is be the early adopter on new GT product. Blown coolant lines, flying wheels, disintegrating clutches, trashed top ends. Maybe this time around they'll be bullet proof right out of the gate but not my experience....

My dealership isn't Porsche and they're in Germany. He told me he'll try but that was maybe 2-3 weeks ago. I guess it would help to ask. But I'm back to mixed feeling again listening to you guys. Some days I want it others I'll pass. Maybe a review from Chris Harris would help

Wait for no one in the US or Canada has an allocation yet? Then why do I keep getting spammed by car brokers telling me I can have a GT2RS allocation for only $150k over? haha
#3090
Had one tell me they had sold one for $160k I asked when you're getting another and never heard back. Apparently that was a lie...
