^I admire your dogged persistence Trakcar. I really hope it works out ok for your trip and that you enjoy every second of it to the fullest. Despite some little issues with my ED trip last spring (no GT3 while in the throes of the stop sale), it was one of our favourite trips ever. Good for you to be so determined!
!
Thanks! If I can't do ED I see no reason to buy a new car.
But trust me they won't want me there for a week :-)
Porsche could have handled this better, there's no question about it. I think the best one can hope for is better transparency with PTS availability going forward.
Beyond that, I think we're pissing in the wind expecting anything more.
Kudos to Eduardo for bringing this to the forefront. I believe it will shine a much needed spotlight on the PTS process.
No, I know nothing about it...other than BMW Individual charges $5000 for their version of PTS.
'Java Green' has also been requested by customers of Audi. This R8 in 'Java Green' used to belong to ISUK in England, a chap that has had very interesting number of custom ordered sport cars in the past and has often been a poster here at Rennlist:
And equally important, there a lot of buyers that are choosing to go that route rather than put up with the hassles of the PTS program at Porsche. So PAG & PCNA...caveat lector.

This car has been at FofNE for well over a year now....it's proving to be a very tough sell in the Northeast....probably would do better in Miami or SoCal....

On the other hand, this 458 Italia in 'Verde Signal Green' would have no problem finding room in my garage!
I think there is a common theme going re: the specific greens that I love. But I have not yet connected the dots. I guess I need a signal from the Almighty to help. Hold it, I think I got it...
No, I guess I need more time to think about it! But it will come to me!
The First Report That A Batch Of late '15 PTS GT3s Were Going To Be Built by PAG!
The first report we got here at Rennlist that PAG was doing a special batch of late PTS gt3s was posted in early February on a thread by Canadian H82BL8 that was entitled 'PTS Canadian GT3 hits v300 1/29/15'. The thread was started on January 30th, 2015 re: the build status of the OP's 'Viper Green' gt3 (which I believe is a 'Stop Sale' MY2014 PTS order that was converted by PAG into a MY2015 PTS built).
On Feb 1, Rennlister 'Anonymous918' posted the following after an American wondered why Canadians were getting PTS and they were not. The premise of the question was false since both markets are getting PTS '15 gt3s that were carried over from cancelled '14 PTS orders. But it led to this revelation:
Then:
And continued:
I read it this whole thread in real time. I had even posted on the thread just ahead of 'Anonymous918' first entry that day. The portent of 'Anonymous918' revelations was missed by me and everyone else. We just couldn't imagine that what he had revealed would lead to something 'big' as is the subject of this current thread!
"a March build and could only be one of these colors:
Mode Grey
Signal Green
Arena Red"
Why only those three colors? Was it just for the 918 VIP privileged folks? It just didn't make any sense. And just a quickly as it was posted, it was forgotten. The dots wouldn't start to be connected until much later...on March 6th in fact!
What the general Porsche customer public didn't know at the time was that in January of 2015 PAG & PCNA had decided to do a special batch of PTS gt3s (around 30) in those three 'odd' colors. And towards the end of that month they had communicated & awarded those late allocations to the dealers that were selected to receive them. So when 'Anonymous918' was contacted in late January by his 918 VIP program contact with news that PAG was to build gt3s in only those three colors sometime in March, it was because some PCNA personnel had gotten wind of the planned PTS build & it was leaked to the 918 VIP program. I believe that general knowledge by PCNA of these special batch of 30 PTS gt3s doesn't predate January of 2015.
We will eventually find out more about how the decision to make these PTS gt3s was formulated at PAG, why the colors were chosen, how the odd specs were selected, and how the dealers were picked to receive them. I have already given you a motive for the latter (the dealer conference in Europe). But there is much more to this saga. We have seen only the tip of the iceberg. And I intend to find out the whole story..and report it to you here.
Rereading H82BL8's thread now with the back story changes everything. Thanks for the tip!
Speaking of strange paint goings on, has anyone been following the story that CWM, CR, and SB are reportedly being discontinued on the GT4? https://rennlist.com/forums/gt4/8662...3-28-15-a.html And no LWBs for the Boxster Spyder (another LWB problem)? What's up with all the last minute issues with these options? Supplier issues? Underestimated demand? I thought the PTS moratorium was odd, and yet the bizarre reversals continue.

Just for info...
my car was an allocation that was given to my dealer in November 17th. I was offered another allocation earlier in September 25th but no chance for PTS. I gambled and had passed on earlier car. My purchase/deposit was in July 2014. I think this was after "stop sale".
My SA was at a dealer meeting in Vancouver when he got the news that my PTS car was a go. This was November 17th.

That is key information, H2BL8, that I did NOT remember (although I see now you told us before). I was assuming you were getting a PTS '15 gt3 thinking you ordered a '14 gt3 (which is I believe the case of <3mph in Canada) and it was pushed into a '15 build because of the stop sale. I am happy for you personally, but I am afraid this information will raise more questions about how PAG mismanaged its 'PTS' program here in the US!
Why didn't the moratorium on PTS announced for US allocations of '15 gt3s in the fall of 2014 apply universally to Canada & other ROW markets for Porsche? I would be interested in the reaction to this news from Montoya, Sportscentury, Mr. Sullivan, NateOZ, Mooty, djcxxx, Jon70, DesmoRR & others.

Interesting, the time when I am saying "yes" I got PTS
Fellow RL members are being denied PTS. The time table is backed by the RL posting dates.
Although, there was so much BS and speculations/misinformation floating around too. Every SA had some sort of opinion.
Even production of GT3 ending was all speculation.

Hi Ed. I think you know from our talks that I am left befuddled by several things going on with PAG, especially regarding GT# cars these days. Mismanagement of PTS, LWB shortage (now discussed with GT4, too), colors so popular they were used in the GT4 marketing campaign suddenly being dropped (SB, CWM, CR), surprise oddly-specced PTS GT3s gifted to certain dealerships, etc. I am afraid I am no clearer on the various PTS issues (including why certain regions, dealerships and customers are treated differently), especially as they have applied to the 1GT3, than I was before. I will say this, though, having owned several 911s and being around pcars and pcar enthusiasts for many years now, there is little that PAG does that surprises me any more. This could be good or bad, I suppose, depending on how you look at it.
