Default No more Sapphire Blue - effective 3-28-15

Got email from my Dealer 3-30-15, attached was email from Porsche Atlanta scheduler stating - "effective 3-28-15 Porsche AG is no longer offering N1- Sapphire Blue as a color choice for the GT4, please ask your Customer to select an alternate color for a June/July build slot".

Dealer is trying to get some clarification if it is just not right now or they are no longer offering it at all.

My wife picked the color and to be honest I don't see myself getting the car in any of the other "offered" colors - so may wait for PTS option to open up if this doesn't clear up, so we can choose a color that won't leave me saying, love the car, but I wish it was "that" color everytime I see it or talk about it!

That is really very poor news. Is there another blue being offered in its stead? Mexico Blue would work for me

At this time just "Dark blue Metallic"

Either Mexico or Voo doo would work for me as well!

That is not good. That's the color I wanted.

PTS may be even worse, OP. I posted the information my dealer received about that over in the GT4 PTS thread. I personally found Sapphire a bit too bright for my taste, but if Aqua Blue had been an option (which incidentally Sapphire replaced a few years ago), I might have gone for that rather than Dark Blue, which having seen on a 918 and 981 Cayman with silver wheels I really like.

Anyhow, I bet Porsche substitutes another blue in the same ballpark as Sapphire as opposed to just dropping it entirely.

For Pete's sake! This was my first choice as well.

Wait...is this an early April Fool's gag?

I got the same email but for Carrara White Metallic...no longer available for order effective 3/28/15. I changed my order to Gt Silver to get the ball rolling, but have until September before lock hits for October build. The Configurator still shows Sapphire Blue and Carrara White...wonder if some new color options will be added when these two are removed?

That would be interesting. A different interesting Blue is something I'd like.

I love Sapphire Blue and have it on my initial order, but was thinking to switch to RY anyways. With some promo GT4s and Chris Harris' test car being SB, I find it weird to cancel it now.

If CWM and SB are truly gone (unless this is an April Fool's joke ), they would have to replace them I assume. If so, excited to see what colors they choose.

Pretty sure everyone is thinking Mexico Blue, haha!

Is this an April fools joke? Not sure why they would do this.

Maybe they are running out of paint!

Sapphire is/was my favorite color on the car.

Hopefully they do not run out of GT3 suspension parts too!

Cheers,

Mike

Interestingly, the brochure for the 981 Spyder shows that Sapphire Blue Metallic is available, but not Dark Blue Metallic.

Maybe they're reserving each of the two blues for the respective cars.
