Lower cost, real race car, mid engine, with a relatively big market: what's not to love!

The $13,000 handbag is far more scarce and will be in the future so it makes more sense to get the more expensive bag! Plus, it has nicer stitching and the logo is much larger, stands up a little higher and has more bling. Besides, that $10,000 bag has probably peaked in value already!!!

The GT4 cup will be a game changer.
It will fall into the hands of those who will develop it into an animal and give the 991CUP something to think about.

I agree. Could be the new Spec Miata series you wouldn't be embarrassed to race in!

Wouldn't be surprised if the above would show up if the RS would be in the garage next to the GT3. Thankfully, that ain't gonna happen!

I guess that just putting on the canards changes the balance of the car. It was a 997.2 GT3RS in this case.

You can clearly see the RS development car sporting the GT3 Cup's brake system at the ~ 0:41 mark. Maybe it's something to look forward to for the 991.2 GT3?

how does this compare to the .2 RS?
I don't know. I'm guessing it's more than the 997.2 RS car.

I doubt it. Those PFC brakes are not cheap at all compared to the Brembos the RS probably has. Plus, the PFC rotors are slotted, not a Porsche cross drilled look.

This is in line with a rumor I heard from one of the reps at the Geneva show: he said he expected Porsche to do a limited production "special edition" at the end of this RS production cycled called the "GT3RS Cup" that would be a street legs car with some of the cup bits... interesting...

Thanks for the welcome 991GT3!

My RS will be on display on Apr 18th, but the actual delivery may be subject to an embargo until early/mid May, based on what I have heard unoffcially.

Anyway, also just wanted to say that I have already learned a ton from Bill Verburg and PetevB on the technical stuff, as well as from people like based on his P source and experience.

one thing that I think is interesting is that the front splitter that is on the GT3RS goes all the way up to the side marker, whereas the GT3 stops at about the same level as the front bumper mounted turn signals. I'm sure this is giving a slight amount more of downforce in addition to the already talked about effect created by making the air go outside of rather than get sucked into the wheel wells. Another thing, a lot of people are so concerned about the taller height of the car, but in the EVO video, he mentions that the magnesium roof is actually 1 kilo lighter than it would have been if it were made in CF. So it's gotta be atleast 2-3 kilos lighter than the GT3's roof. This leads me to believe that even though, it is slightly higher, the center of gravity is actually lower, since that part of the car is much lighter when compared to the GT3's. I'm really curious to see what the weight of the 21" wheels and the front 20" wheels comes out to. I think this is the source of quite a bit of extra weight. I can honestly see someone like HRE, Champion or GMG coming out with Magnesium wheels for this car to lighten the rolling unsprung weight of this car. Also, AP was quite strong in his comment that this car has more than 500hp. I'm guessing it really is closer to 520hp, which is what most people were expecting all along anyway. I have a feeling that this car is actually going to perform a lot better than Porsche is letting out of the bag right now. About the 200rpm less than the GT3, is 200 rpm really that noticeable? If when the 997.2 3RS came out, someone said the next RS will spin to 8800rpm, we'd have been exstatic and said WOW, almost 9k!!!! But since the 9K mark was set with the 991GT3, people are acting like 8800 is nothing. It's still a pretty amazing accomplishment, especially given the car's 4 liter capacity. As for it being the largest step away from the GT3 when compared to other gens, the body work most certainly is, the performance I think may end up surprising us once it starts being thrown into the hands of drivers that have driven both and not being based on what the factory is telling us. Personally, I can't wait for Chris Harris to get his hands on one!
