Consolidated 991RS thread

100% very true and important factors to many. but no way a used 991 RS will sell for the same as a used 991 GT3. none of us can say for sure the difference at this point, the market will eventually but youre not loosing the 50k. youre not setting it on fire going to an RS, in my opinion.
My focus is not on what I can sell something for and lose or gain money. Someone here said these are just toys at the end of the day. I just don't think, for my hard earned money, that this RS justifies an extra $50 grand out of my pocket for basically the same car I have in my garage. Now, you can certainly argue, successfully perhaps, that the RS is a better track car than the 3. For the amount of tracking I will do - maybe once or twice a year and more of a DE than racing- the GT3 more than fits the bill. For me, and we all have our own prisms to look through, that graph showed me the RS is too close to the 3 to fork up the extra gelt.

All depends on the units of production - anyone heard anything?
Is the production ending in September rumour confirmed?

b) Was the 991 GT3 just such a big leap( which I believe it was) over the C2S/previous GT3s that there was no way they could of expanded that to the RS??
c) Did they just make the Gt3 too good leaving very little room for improvement??
d) Did they dial back the RS from what they might of learned with the GT3 - will never know??

I hope the downforce will be the biggest difference in the RS vs GT3. I'm also hoping the wider track, aero package and suspension of the RS fixes the squirmy behaviour of the 991 GT3 under very heavy braking.

all i meant was if the RS cost 50k more brand new you will get more for it when sold. so the gentleman that stated hes not going to throw 50k away was not on point because you will eventually get some of that extra 50k back when its time to move on. throwing 50k away on a more expensive vacation is not the same as forfeiting an extra 50k towards an RS.
we are agreeing 100%, i think you got confused in my last post

Stuff is actually moving faster in this 4.0 engine than the 3.8 in the 991 GT3. But, by virtue of the greater distance needed to cover, it's overall revolutions per minute are lower.
If I'm not mistaken (someone posted earlier in this thread, or another thread) that the piston speed for the 991 GT3 RS is only topped by the 918 Spyder, and that it tops the Lexus LFA (known for its absurdly high engine speed) which either tops or matches the 991 GT3.
