Thanks fxz. I think you mean the rear fender vents create a ram effect to the intake mechanism. This is needed due to teh lack of a rear breathing grill and rear ram air intake under the rear lid on the 991 GT3. Unfortunately it doesnt add 25bhp at 200 mph just as it doesnt add any real power on the GT3 or the new GT4 which also has the same design, but its a nice idea ;-)
the why so big fenders turbo like rather than lid fenders GT3 like
indeed with turbo like fends the car loose aerodynamic cx
but He said gain hp

Very interesting. I have a contact at PAG and when the car was described to me late last year no mention of this magical way to find 5% more power was explained. I however am not denying it exists, maybe they have some kind or electrical resonance system additional to vario ram but who knows. Will be exciting to find out. Shame it is not reflected on the published power curves etc as it would be nice to see.....

fxz. If what you say about this extra 25 bhp is true Porsche have just broken the production record for Atmo engine voumetric efficiency and take it away from Ferrari Speciale with 128.xx bkp/L and now Porsche have 131 bhp/L a new record!!! This will be an amazing headline for Geneva! It will be a nice win for PAG and us enthusiasts too!

but the reason to deceease aerodynamic car performance
having such bigger fenders turbo like than current GT3 smaller
is said to increase hp
i can quietly believe him otherwise why decrease aero efficiency if not gain?

Just watched this video. If you look carefully in the first portion of the video, when they are showing the 918, I believe you see a 991 GT3 RS which is there for testing. To me that's the only thing it could be. You can see 2 or 3 times.

None of it makes much sense to me.
The reason for wider bodywork could be tyre width and axle width?
Sure there is a diffuser system at work - air enters the side vents and exist the new rear bumper vents we have already seen on the model, pictures and rear bumper in orange for sale above. This may help add aero or stability at speed.
This is not a turbo engine so cant see ram air system making huge differences at speed.
All dyno work I have done on my 993 (alot as it runs Motec) was done with massive fans running full force at all oil coolers and air intakes during the runs...

a mere 25 hp increase will not call a GT3 to RS swap at least for me
but aestethically is beatifully hardcore looking
hope Geneva will confirm also mechanically hardcore...
btw Kawasaki is not turbo engine and what heard is 5 to 6 % hp increase at 200mph so 525 for RS otherwise does not make any sense having turbo fenders for not turbo rs engine
they would have left the more aero efficient smaller lid fender

rear wheel air intaker turbo like to
this the best to have a turbo effect on injection system
like it was turbo but indeed no turbo lag no turbo at all
just air compressed more and more faster you go
so expect 525 +hp at 200mph (good right for nurburgring to steal seconds marketing dept happy jurnos too but in dd or short tracks no effect)

Gains so far seem all down to downforce, traction, and PDK.
It'll be interesting to see full dyno charts to get a better read on differences.

Guys here s my meeting outcome
no kers no turbo ...
500hp @8250 rpm
460mm @6250 rpm
indeed 4.0l and RWS
and keep calm if you can
2.8 kg/hp (3.5kg/hp GT4)
ergo 1400kg
fwheels 20 265mm rwheels 21 325mm
so 40mm wider
front air cuts to avoid air lift
rear wheel air intaker turbo like to

typo in weight power ratio corrected above (1400kg did not change)

If I get an allocation, mine will be orange.
