you mean once the car is announced, I won't be able to spec my RS from home on the US configurator...has to be done at the dealer ?

I think you will when the car i launched.
I think that, for some reason, some markets are getting a preview of what to come.
Unfortunately they don't see the interesting bits: Pictures and prices...

German Porsche Center says that GT3 RS base price will be 35K€ higher than GT3 (incl. 19% German VAT).

Not sure about that, but now its only allowed from dealers.
The configurator I used today was based on the old configurator layout and not the new one. On the top left of the page, it says RS Configurator.

We pay fewer dollars than Germans pay Euros (including VAT), so expect price right around $165k, if 35k Euros premium is true and we continue to see the same US currency bargain.

In the effort to get past 300 pages today - the new R8 is supposed to be 610 hp in the V10 plus and less than 1450 kg. Assuming Audi sorts out the understeer problem, which is faster on the ring?

No doubt: The RS thanks to its amazing downforce offsetting the worse power-to-weight ratio.
PS: One post more probably needed to reach the 300 pages!
