Please don't shoot those that benefit from it. Ask Porsche for an explanation. And surprise us if you get one.
No worries. It was a rhetorical question; I'm not shooting anyone nor do I begrudge anyone who benefits from an earlier delivery. My car will get here when it gets here. It's clearly a first world "problem".

I hope yours shows up sooner than you expect. In the meantime we can all continue to speculate how it will get sorted out. It gives us something to talk about until the cars get delivered.

Does a 'spec lock' and build date go hand in hand? or has anyone had their spec locked without a date?

My original understanding from the dealer is options would become locked approximately 3-4 weeks before production date. however at this stage I have been able to change my options even though technically my build date according to the PAG computer is only 21 days away. Go figure...

Just got an email from my dealer that the my order status changed to Fixed and the delivery date is now stated as late January. Subject to change, but he believes there is a good chance it's final timing...

Congrats! Which country are you in? And how does delivery date compare to your original date?

I'm in SF, USA. Original delivery date was second week of January, and now it looks like it's 1.5-2 weeks later than that. I'll take it...

Can imagine that! I hope this is true. Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel

But I only believe it when I see the first one delivered!
Let's pray

With you guys in SF potentially getting these cars in early January, I'd love to pop down and have a look if you are open to it?

I hope it works out that they arrive as predicted because I'd be very pleased to meet you and do that.

Me too. Wife and I are planning to be in SF and Napa in January to celebrate paying off our house with a dinner at the French Laundry (still trying to get in, but I have a lead). Would love to swing by to check out your wheels.
