My dealer just checked the status of my order, and the estimated date of delivery is now 2/14/14, which is a three week improvement over the early October status update delivery estimate of 3/07/14.

The original delivery estimate when the order was placed in early September was 1/31/14.

Looks like delays were overly conservative a few weeks ago and are now getting ratcheted back.

Thanks!

Not long ago, I had a $1MM mortgage on my primary residence, and a $240k mortgage on my second home. At 45 y/o I consider myself quite fortunate to be in this position, debt free in perhaps 6 weeks time.

Before I go full boogie tilt into investing, I'm taking a detour and getting the GT3. Q1 2014 is gonna be awesome with new metal in the garage and no house payments.

That's absolutely great mate. We did this a few years back and I must admit I feel so much more alive and flexible with out having that debt on non/low income producing assets. We too decided on "time out" and although we have not bee accumulating aggressively have been really enjoying the peace of mind. Well earned by the sounds of it. An nice to know some people have their priorities right. I was surprised at how many on here have over 10% of their net wealth on the line with the new GT3 (or in fact often with the old GT3 on finance in their garage). These are a "discretionary spend" IMHO and should come after houses, business, family etc.

Actually you've just reminded me of a poll Ive always wanted to run. I may put it up on this board shortly...

Absolutely. We can have a meet!

Funyy - I just sold my house, actually, but now my rent is more than twice my mortgage payments were, so I'm in exactly opposite position. Thanks God business is great.

Just received a mail from my dealer, who received a statement from the factory:

"The retrofitting process for all GT3 which have started production before the 23rd of October has already started. Unfortunately, due to the number of cars affected, most likely it will take until mid of December until all cars are finished. Please understand that an update of the completion dates will not be available in advance."

So, there is light at the end of the tunnel. We just don't know the length of it...

Thanks Tom. Phew, finally a communication.. So the cars gathering leaves in the yard are indeed early production customer cars awaiting the fitment of the new parts I assume. This would indicate early cars like yours are built. I assume cars like mine are not hence my ability to change the options on my order. My assumption is the modification/parts will be put into production on vehicles as soon as the lines open next week (Im lead to believe). I guess (again assumption) what this may mean is that UK RHD orders and others with production dates after 23rd October may very well end up receiving their cars earlier than the cars that require the retrofitting (as one assumes it takes longer to retro fit than build on production line).

The question as you say is how long is the tunnel? Assuming they start the retrofit next week, and one assumes under 100 units I would hope that your car would be on the water well before Xmas. However given the lack of channel communication to date its probably a case of you'll get it when it arrives!

Tom here your white car bottom right with "export protection package". This photo taken by a Kiwi friend visiting the factory last week!

Haha, who knows, Macca?

I'm still hoping to get it in January. But there's probably very little rhyme and reason to which cars will be repaired first. Depending on the lay of the (parking) land, it's even more likely that this will be done LIFO rather than FIFO... So, based on Murphy's Law, with the repairs finishing up to mid December and about 7 weeks of transport, it could easily become February too. Or even early March.

good for you, 'new. So I see Davisville. If you are in the northeast, hopefully you get some nice days to enjoy it before too much white stuff accumulates.

Thanks, I'm surprised as this is only one week behind my original delivery date. I am in Northeast and will be anxiosly awaiting Spring. I'll get in as much Winter use as possible by installing Michelin PSS tires which are pretty good as long as it's not snowing, I have them on my DD. I'll reinstall the OE tires for track use, no use wearing them out around town.

There you go.

My specs are with the dealer and entered on their system. No date yet, but since I'm in TX, we have sports car weather year around.

Just returned yesterday from the Boston area. Dang, getting cold up there already!

You must be from Texas, I wouldn't even call this chilly. Hope you get a date soon.

Dude it was 28 degrees in Worcester on Monday. Ouch. Originally from NY, but 25 years living south of the mason dixon line and I'm a wuss now.

But yeah, need to talk to dealer and see what I can find out.
