Fronts were no issue but at that time I was told there were no rears that would work unless a narrower rim was used which is not available (yet?). I have zero experience in this area so not sure what to conclude?
Damn, that could be correct. I’ll do some digging since I may put on some winter rubber for the first couple of months here.

Thanks Peter. I never knew about that one.

A colleague of mine has just advised me Porsche are trying to condense all production for 2014 into week 46-49 for all markets LHD and RHD. That is starting Monday just gone and ending 7 December. Looking at the quotes on that german site and also the British site that would seem consistent with clients now being advised their cars are completed (or 90% complete as in my own instance?).

Can you clarify what you mean by "all production?"

At 125 cars per week for 4 weeks that's only 500 cars.

When will they start production of the 2015 GT3s? August 2014?

Interesting. my latest update (yesterday) from Porsche is my car will be built mid-Jan 2014. BTW, the reason for the delay is valve train durability at the 9000 rpm limit. Cars already produced before the problem surfaced were retrofitted with the fix. This is from Rennteam site.

Thanks, Nick. Glad you got word on your build date.

So far we've heard from web sources that the delay was due to connecting rod failure, then RWS issues, and now (from another web source, of course) valve train durability. Obviously it was something, but I remain skeptical as to exactly what.....

What is the fix?.. Please tell more exotic components?

Probably just bad hangovers from Oktoberfest.

Whatever it was, they must be back on track. I just got word that my allocation is available!!

I'm pumped at getting a crack at getting my car earlier, bummed about ED so I'll have to live vicariously through you!
frayed, can you elaborate on this? This is essentially what my dealer did but I did not want Euro delivery to happen in the winter. I'm concerned about potentially not having an allocation as a result.

That's all I know. I got a call asking if I'd take an earlier allocation. I said yes, thinking that with all these delays it would be pushed deep into Q1 anyway. Turns out not.

But that's fine, it was a bit of a tossup b/t euro del and earlier build.
