I was dropping off my C4S for new tires today when they told me they had no idea of production times yet. They also told me of the arrival of the 2014 Turbo S launch cars. One was sold, the other not (Black, again). Because of the production delay and uncertainty of GT 3 delivery time, I considered the TTS. They let me drive it. Holy mother of all accelerations!! I ended up canceling the GT3 and bought the Turbo S. The wife is actually happy as I can take our kids in the back seats. First track day this Saturday. They are trying to find out if steel brakes are available yet, because of my heavy track use. I am excited, I woke up at 3 am today!! My first Turbo.
I will stay on this GT3 forum because I kept my GT3RS deposit.

Default Turbo S

interesting...i test-drove the turbo S twice for about an hour each time. i sort of wanted to get myself to like it but i couldn't. it felt very fast (certainly faster than my F458) but rather sterile. the only emotion it gave me was fear once or twice....with the thought 'oh boy if i loose it once then i do not need to worry about the future'.
masses of traction and grip but does it tell you 'you are pushing too hard my friend' before it kills you?
enjoy, peter

Wow Mike--is the 1/24 date very different than what you were originally promised?

It did scare me a couple of times as well but it was because I've never been in a car with that much push before. I am hoping it behaves somewhat predictably on the track. Outside of brief onramp/highway bursts, I don't plan on exploring its limits on the streets.

Before the recent delay my build date for a RHD UK car was scheduled for 25th october. Computer today now showing 14th November.

Delivery to the UK is then between 12/17 days so don't bet against snowstorms at the end of this month!

Tim, the vehicle fixed and production dates have been pushed out 2 weeks. But the exit port in Emden, arrival in San Diego, and dealer inventory dates have only been bumped 1 week.

My schedule went from the original dates, to a holding status (I think my SA said it was V170 instead of V200) with no dates for a couple of weeks, and then to these dates as of the latest refresh on 10/29. I don't know what to think.....

The boats to the west coast have to go through the Canal, of course, and may make more than one stop. Still, I think the time frame for transport is overly conservative, as is the 2 weeks in Emden, and the 2 weeks from the port in San Diego to my dealer. Before all this delay stuff, it's why my SA thought the car would get here sooner than predicted.

Thank you. It is certainly the fastest accelerating vehicle I have ever driven. Real test tomorrow, as I am running the local track in similar weather conditions to last time with the C4S; will see what lap times I get, although I have a feeling it will take me a few laps to get used to the extra power, different brakes, RWS, 300+ more lbs, etc. It'll be embarrassing to spin a car with temporary plates

Mike, I'm 99.9% sure that it isn't. By now they have at least 3 months of lost production for the markets that were planned to get deliveries prior to the USA. So, unless that original delivery schedule is ignored, it can't be true.

That doesn't stop you / us hoping that it is, though!

Heck, Tom, next I bet you're going to tell me Santa and the Easter bunny aren't real either!
