The 991 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
#9586
So question for those looking or already purchased. Since most of the 991.2s seem to no longer have a warranty. Are you only looking at CPOs or just taking the risk that the motor etc won't go? I found a low mile car under 8K miles but no warranty so on the fence on what to do.

Tons of threads on warranties. One thing is certain, and this may be more prevalent with GT cars, everyone would like to have an extended warranty - even on a 991.2 gen. It's been my experience dating back to a 997 turbo, if your vehicle is out of the OEM warranty it is very difficult to find a policy that is close to the original. Once the OEM or CPO expires, everything escalates in price, and in some instances lowers in coverage. So, for everyone looking at 991.1 and 991.2 (GT3 or RS), that are out of warranty (including any CPO coverage), it is very challenging to get a policy - especially if someone is looking for full coverage on the engine and transmission. And then, even if someone can find a policy, read the fine print and total coverage amounts (caps).
I think you'll read about some exceptions where someone found a way to get coverage. While that is great for that individual, there is no magic loophole. I think you'll find a dealer will be more willing to work with someone buying their car. But trying to call around dealers for coverage after the fact (after CPO/OEM warranty expires), have rarely seen that work for a GT3 or RS out of warranty.

Posting for my Buddy whos never been on RL... 2018 GT3 Touring in Racing Yellow with PCCB, LWSB, etc... 1,100 miles ... I talked him into buying the car sight unseen but after 200 miles, its too much car for him and he will sell. Below is a link from a few years back but it will provide all the info and pics. Car is in SoCal and he just installed P1 plaid inserts and Sharkwerks exhaust. DM me if interested and i'll connect you with seller.

Well after spending the past 9 or 10 months searching for a Miami Blue GT3RS but refusing to pay a $30k or $40k premium over the other colors, I went with Lava Orange instead. Has pretty much everything I wanted, with a cage and Dundon exhaust and under 10k miles. Not too bad for under $230k.......

@ onepunch - awesome spec and congratulations! I look forward to hearing about how the car and color grows on you. Owned a LO RS four years, and the color (on top of the performance certainly) was something I really loved about the car. Enjoy that beast!

Thanks. I wasnt really sure about LO because it was the most common color I think on the .1 cars. So I kind of dismissed it, especially since I had my heart set on Miami Blue. But seeing the LO with the contrast from the carbon in the Weissach pkg really made me take another look at LO.
I'm debating whether to add the side GT3RS decals or not. I think I want to, but if I do I'm pretty sure I will use the new design as I like the font better. I know the new ones are a little shorter because of the different fender, but I still like it better.....

I used the new design on mine. Go for it

how did you extend the stripe to reach the front fender? I thought about doing that but I figured there is no way that whatever vinyl the installation shop has is going to match the color of the stripes that were ordered elsewhere......

I prefer the RS without the stickers but think it looks good with it as well. I know that was a part of the 991.2 RS package. And I know Porsche has a legacy of adding the big stickers. A LO WP RS if going to hold its own either way. 😉
I recall all the debate about LO when buying mine. There are too many, how does it appear in certain shades, etc. in 4 years of driving all over Seattle I never saw one. There was one in for an oil change at the dealer, but that’s it. Frankly, it’s funny to look back at that. IMHO, a color speaks to you or it doesn’t. Same goes for MB or GR, etc. I found it was perfectly suited for the car. Cheers!
