I recently drove the 991.2 3RS back to back with the 992 GT3 on track, and the 992 didn't really feel bigger in size, but it did feel heavier and less raw and visceral and fun. I think that RS is a forever keeper.

I put the 4RS and 991.2RS in that same category and you might be right in forever car. What I don’t love with the 911 is lack of usable space for road trips (wasted space behind the buckets). I know that’s not what that car is made for but my definition of forever car is something that you can take on a weekend getaway. The more raw the better - F40, singer DLS, 675LT sorta raw but at a fraction of the price.

I drove a 991.2 3RS non WP and a 992 GT3 Manual before buying my 4RS to make sure it was the right car I wanted. The 992 GT3 was just too easy to drive in the canyons, the rear wheel steering and suspension made it completely effortless to take tight turns which really didn't do anything for me. If anything it made me realize I have to drive the car even faster to actually feel something. I stepped out of it basically just wanting the engine and the brakes(4RS has both). The 991.2 3RS I drove was great, definitely felt more raw than the 992 GT3 and I almost pulled the trigger on a Miami Blue Weissach unicorn I found. After buying the 4RS and having thousands of miles on it I would say it feels even more raw than the .2 3RS. It's not easy to drive on uneven tight canyons because it struggles to put power down and the suspension is fairly stiff(I catch air at 70mph+ in the canyons or freeway if I go over a big dip) but man does it put a smile on my face every time I drive it even at low speed. It helps even more that I purchased the magnetic clicky paddles for it and an exhaust to make the sub 5k rpm drama better.
I'd say for me it was 4RS > 991.2 3RS > 992 GT3 after driving all 3. Think I'd rather own a 6MT 991.2 GT3 over a 992 GT3 just because it has more drama/raw feel.

Just depends what your purpose for the car is.

I believe it, the 4RS is much harder to drive on the same canyon roads that I drove a 992 GT3 on, it steps out and the traction light is flickering a ton on the uneven pavement. If you're buying a car to be the fastest guy on the track or canyons then 992 GT3/RS all the way. If you want to have the most fun though, my vote is 4RS all day because that scariness is what makes it so raw and fun.
Just depends what your purpose for the car is.

I keep flip flopping back and forth about keeping the manual and getting the DeMan upgrade to make it nuts.
I don’t need more power but I’d like to have it but the gearing is what I’m really after. Which the 4rs has. What I found was the pdk a bit dull under 5-6k whoch 75% of my driving is and also the pdk click sounded a tad cheap. What are the magnetic paddles you speak of? Which exhaust did you add? Adding parts to a car this expensive isn’t really in my cards.

Said it lacked grip at the front axle without modification, which I found interesting. Probably just needs a set up adjustment. Misha is credible, but presumably drives the cars as presented to him. STO is another example, presented it as basically undrivable on track, but that can't be if set up properly.

im on the fence about trading a 981 gt4 manual for the 4rs in a pts color as a forever car.
