And I have to say - your 991.2 Touring is beautiful and in another league compared to the 992. Again that's my issue - the 991.2 Touring is a real looker in my eyes and I'm a sucker for looks.
Agree. 991.2 is far more beautiful. I feel the 992.2 will really make the 992.1 an ugly duckling. I.e. 996 headlights

not 996 headlight bad but the front of the gt 992’s look pretty horrible none the less. Certain colors are ok and not bmw front end bad by any means haha.

Thank you. I think they are both beautiful cars in their own right. The 991 definitely doesn’t look as aggressive as the 992 which looks more motorsport. What truly sets them apart is behind the wheel. That is where Porsche up their game each generation & I won’t be surprised if the 992.2 takes it another step. Can’t lose either way. Both are fantastic cars… but one thing is for sure. My 71T gets most of the smiles.

look wise it's an easy win on 1.2 but I'm over that...1.2 is beautiful & 992 look doesn't bother me. Another thing I start to notice is that I care less about the look/spec/paint etc about 992 just because drive is good, I was such a pts/spec snob before then.

From a collectibility position, 992 6sp Touring are rarer thank 991.2 Touring (all 6sp)… who knows the future so get what you like and drive
I don’t think you are correct on the 992 being rarer than the 991. My dealer sold at least 15 or more 992 Tourings and only a few 991’s. The 991 was a mid year model and although Porsche limited the 992 ratio of winged cars to Tourings there still are more 992’s. Just an observation. (And I was one of those 992 owners)

I think he's referring to the 6sp variants of the 992 Touring. A large number of 992 Touring builds were PDK.

Personally, I don't think that has quite the same impact - in the final analysis the total model run of 992 Tourings was greater than 991.2.

How much that really matters, time will tell.

714 991.2 6sp tourings

594 992 6sp tourings thru MY 2023

So, unless they build 120+ more 6sp touring for MY2024 (very unlikely), the 992 will be rarer comparing apples to apples

Yes I saw that but I was thinking what you said. Bottom line are fewer 991 Tourings than 992’s. Not sure how to read that chart but if you add the 2 together it shows 743 manual Tourings not including 2024’s

Perhaps 6speed versions but more 992’s overall than 991’s and my dealership delivered several 2024’s

from a collectibility point of view, see Tiptronic vs 6sp 993, two very different markets

True but you also can’t compare a Tiptronic to a PDK. Also if you add both charts you get 743 manuals not including 2024’s ( if I am reading it correctly) And if I am not so be it. Enjoy what you have and don’t worry about collectibility. Just drive them!

Sure you can compare which is why PDK GT cars command less $$ than their 6sp counterparts, that’s obvious. I’m not talking about the technical/performance between Tip and PDK, but the market value impact compared to 6sp

also, California sales are inclusive of Federal sales (so you are reading it wrong)
