Lots of update in engine/chassis/steering feel/susp setup etc vs 991(both of mine are 6mt) that can be felt immediately 30seconds heading out from skidpad in 992 after 991: more smooth drivetrain revs to 9k more effortless&freely / steering feels lighter & more natural, 991 felt unnecessarily heavy all of a sudden / sharper & more willing turn in, slalom dynamic more like a mid engine car / susp is more settled over small bumps tires maintain better contact. Overall car fulfills your intent in a more precise & efficient fashion.

991.2's sound in stock form is a tad underwhelming, I got to do a dundon or akra set up to make it sound great. 992 in stock does not have the volume compared to modded 991 but sounds very clean/HD/more screaming in higher pitch, stay at high rev for too long my ear hurts

as a daily 992 is easier to live with, felt more tired/ took more beat-up in 991 after a while, as a result I always want to have a go in 992 but not so much in 991. I do stalled more often in 992 tho

Also kids like 992 more, dunno why maybe bigger wing maybe they like red lol, my younger one refuses to go in other cars now, I have to take 992 whenever i'm on duty for her pickup/dropoff

Going back to a 991 it's still a great drive but not as addictive as 992 to me. Same thing with 997/6 so I'll just keep the car I like to drive most, keeping many cars is kind of a chore.

One more thing I'll add is I've done about 12k in 2 991.2 so far & am deeply in love with the gelbgrun car which I sold the chalk car for, still a 991.2 lover ( I know my ultimate 1.2 touring is in Jerry Seinfeld's hand so not counting my luck on that one) but for now it's time to enjoy 992

brought 1.2 & 7.2 along for delivery, CJ & team runs a great store @fresno, def worth the drive

what a great post! The 992 GT3 is by far the most insanely awesome car I have ever driven. Until you get this on the track, get the revs up and challenge this car, you don’t know what you’re missing. Had people often ask on track what mods I did because they said it sounded amazing, so ya, car stock is pretty sic. Below 5K, car is very subtle, but I love that. I don’t need to be screaming at every shift driving down regular city roads, lol.

People talk about the digital display, what display, I’m watching the road, turns, angles, passing cars on the track, etc. People say it’s too big, for what, fitting into tiny parking spots, squeezing through the the giant redwood tree ? Lol, Lordy.
(There are 3 remaining drive through Redwood Trees in California)

992 may or may not fit through this!! Proceed with caution and perhaps fold in the mirrors. Lol

I’ve had both the 991.2 and 992 GT3s… looks are subjective… you like what you like, but the 992 is definitely better to drive mostly due to the front suspension… it’s magical and make other Porsches seem underwhelming.

From a collectibility position, 992 6sp Touring are rarer thank 991.2 Touring (all 6sp)… who knows the future so get what you like and drive

FWIW here are my thoughts. Numbers are spitball estimates.

Trade in values for 991.2 Tourings are probably in the 220 range, maybe higher 220s at best depending on spec and I think some of that has to do with the current pricing on 992s - a rising tide lifts all boats. Retail on 991.2 Tourings is probably ~$45-60k over MSRP.

Entry cost on a 992 GT3 (wing) is in the 230-240 range, but that's for a lower end spec. LWBs, MT, PCCBs seem to still in the 250k+ range, which is still quite a bit over sticker. Tourings more.

I think 992s are still a little overpriced - they are due to fall I think, especially once the 992.2 is announced and there is nothing particularly unique about a 992.1 that would necessarily recommend it over the 992.2 unless the latter comes out as a hybrid (possible, but unlikely).

991.2 Touring, on the other hand, do have some unique characteristics (first of its kind/manual only/low total run) which make them potentially collectible - but I do not believe investment grade. Even though there may be less MT 992 Tourings, there are still more total of that body style out there relative to the 991.2 and that's what the market responds to, IMO.

I agree with the advise of getting what you want, but I would hesitate on moving a great car with relatively stable value like a 991.2 Touring, in favor of a car whose value may be a bit labile - unless you really love the 992. In which case, who cares about value.

Personally, and no offense, the 992 body style hasn't really lit me up and that's probably the biggest barrier I've had with the car. Maybe the right spec would do it. Having owned a couple of 992s, the size is also an issue. I'm quite sure the car drives amazingly well - Porsche simply doesn't make a bad GT3. Never has, never will.

I have both a 992 GT3 and 991.2 3RS. Both are excellent cars. Objectively, the performance is similar. Subjectively, people will vary in which one they enjoy more. Personally, I find the 3RS to feel more special and that’s the one I’d keep if I could only have one. But sometimes I’m in a mood to drive the GT3, and I really enjoy it on those days.

I also have a McLaren 570 GT, and I find to be a superior road car compared to any of the Porsches. And not just a little bit superior, it’s in a different league.

Love both cars. The 992 driving dynamics really set the car apart however. My 991T is easily mistaken for a GTS although the understated look isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The 992T presents itself like a car developed by the GT dept. Aggressive diffuser, front end & bespoke interior options. Ultimately, each touring generation that follows will have increased production. The conversation will rinse & repeat when the 992.2 arrives. Along with a massive MSRP increase.

136 mile gt3 for sale on BaT. I don’t understand the thought process behind this at all. Can’t imagine all the issues that might come up with a car that’s basically sat for 5 years. Just the issues with the fuel system alone would make me worry.

I think the 991.2 Touring has a different presence than a GTS simply because of the front clip and the stance. Just my opinion, anyway.

And I have to say - your 991.2 Touring is beautiful and in another league compared to the 992. Again that's my issue - the 991.2 Touring is a real looker in my eyes and I'm a sucker for looks.

I’d like to start a public shaming website for the owners who do this nonsense.
