ya, I was watching this and thought about bidding, but when I saw pricing, I’m like, this is insane, plus 5%, so that’s what, another $13k, makes car $280k. Maybe car had some gold platting on it I missed?

I don’t get it, for another $20k or so, you can buy 992 GT3 with like 3 year warranty left on it. Interesting for sure!!!

Maybe the buyer prefers the 991 to a 992. I do and I have had both!

20k price gap between 991.2 manual and 992 sounds about right for now, with warranty consideration. Hard to justify much more than that.

Don't know about as new 991.2 manual at 225k, but if the typical as new 992 manual is still 40-50k more than that, guess so.

Think these two gens are headed for price parity in years ahead, primarily with 992 dropping to get there.

Presumably that auctioned 991.2 manual was purchased as a garage queen. In that case, 991.2 is the better collector car than 992.

When 992.2 comes out, I think it's a fair bet the 992/991.2 will be pretty close. I think at that point, the 991.2 Tourings will eclipse the winged 992, particularly winged PDK 992s (getting pretty close as is). Once the car loses the "latest and greatest" aura for the folks who will only drive what's fresh, the car will be judged on its own merits. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Size, less digital, some would say more "classic" looks. And of course 992.1 will imminently be replaced by 992.2 which everyone will decide is somehow "better".

Oh yeah, critical on the way to C&C. If there are guys here doing 2:02s at WGI in their 991.2 but now are doing 1:59s with their 992.1 then sure, kudos, beyond that who cares.
