Repeat from the discussion already in the Warranty thread.
$4,700 for x2 $20K claims, 60 months or $7,500 for x2 $40K claims, 60 months.

It's the only option available. Do it, don't do it... whatever. But if you're trying to SELL an RS and you're worried potential buyers will get scared off because of no warranty, it's absolutely worth it to pay $4,700 to make more than that on the sale.

I don't think there has ever been a generation since I have been alive "enthusiasts" thought was better than the last gen.

In 2006, the new gt3 was a big porker electronic nanny filled water cooled atrocity in the eyes of RL enthusiasts and the 993 was king.

We'll be talking about how the last gen is better until the end of time

Suggesting enthusiasts reflexively prefer the past gen is becoming the cliché.

Didn't know much at the time but thought 993 cooler than 996.

997 a definitive step forward across the board.

991 same, didn't love initial no manual option.

Just don't find 992.1 that compelling. Double wishbone front... and?? Not dissing, I'd happily have one. But not a stretch to see why 991 (especially .2) would be preferred.

Throw the 4.2 from the 992 GT3 R (557 bhp) into the base 992.2, that will have my attn.

Cool car.

Agree. At this risk of this thread becoming redundant. Every gen has its pros and cons. It’s rare that a generation uniformly superior to the previous without something lost. Some of us had the chance to weigh those options and made a conscious choice. I strongly preferred the 992 TTS to the older car, but prefer the 991.2 Touring to the newer car. Go figure.

It’s like watches - I’m looking at getting a new Rolex lately and have been weighing getting a new one vs buying a vintage of the same model (in this case Exp II). Sure the new one is “superior” but the size, aesthetics and overall personality of the older vintage is more appealing to me. On the other hand, I immediately loved the new Daytona and was quick to buy it over the older watch.

Congrats!

It’s very true - when it comes to Daytonas it’s buy first ask questions later.

I didn’t know there was different levels to it. I understood it to be max payout $20k for one claim and $40k lifetime. Do you think that a $5k off brand extended warranty adds $5k to the value of an RS? If so how much more is it worth with that coverage?

I don't think it is a certainty when it comes to recouping that value. However, you never know who a potential buyer is going to be. Some buyers really care about an extended warranty while others don't. I think for the individuals who do, having a policy in place could differentiate your car to where they're more inclined to purchase. For those buyers who don't care, you just cancel the policy and get a pro-rated refund.

I'm getting more serious on selling my 2018 1.2 6mt as i may have found the replacement. Located in bay area / CPO to Dec 2024 / Gelbgrun with cxx seats(white piping & houndstooth inserts) / loaded / 11k miles / full akra exhaust / front ppf / no wart dash / ps4s with decent tread / recently serviced / paint matching roll cage with no track history. Asking 210. Any interests out here?

Very lovely, indeed. Based on comps from BAT, you're not far off market pricing. Unfortunately, premium over MSRP starts dissipating as options are loaded up.
