Just an FYI....using something stronger will tend to, over time, make an oval out of the hole in the clutch pedal shaft. That is, if you don't solve the root issue...

What I've found is that the rollpin is most likely to break due to not setting the clutch pedal travel distance properly. Well, properly for not breaking the rollpin. The clutch master has an internal stop. The piston won't go further. If when you are using your pedal and press it to the floor, yu are bumping against that stop, you will eventually break the rollpin. Pedal travel measured at the center of the pedal should be 145mm (+10) according to the shop manual. I stopped adjusting it that way. I press the pedal to the stop in the master, and set the clutch pedal first so that the floor board stop is what stops the pedal travel. Now there is no way to break the rollpin by over powering it. Then see where the clutch begins to engage. It should be above the floor, but if it's not, there may be air in the lines, cuz it should be. I usually have to bring the stop on the floor down again a bit to get the clutch engagement where I like it. Closer to the floor but just above, so it's fully engaged at the stop, but doesn't take much travel to get it back to the beginning of engagement...if that makes sense.

Long and short, if your pedal stop is the master cylinder, you will break the rollpin. If it's the floor board stop, then not likely to break the rollpin.

Of course I find all this out after four rollpins and buying a 993 pedal box. But I'm happy with my change.

Btw. I am no longer seeing pics I am uploading to this thread when I use the garage talk app, but then I see them when I go online to look both on my phone and my computer.

Are you guys seeing pics in the garage talk app?

I've noticed a lot of pics not showing in the app. It's not just this thread.

Added the dash light today for my pdas. Wanted to do that forever.

Now I need an identical car with analog accelerometers to test it against...

Rob, Do you have pictures of how your end links are installed? Try to get some reference. I may be missing two tapered misalignment bushing

ken,

are you talking about front or rear? Mine are C4, not C2. I have pics somewhere of the rears - If I have front pics - they should be back in the thread somewhere....

Drive report - 993 Pedal Box - freshly rebuild, most parts including the bushings replaced.

the clutch pedal hangs.

So guess what - here's the thing - the 993 pedal box, when it works - is far superior to the 964 box. Love it.

but - the hanging clutch pedal is a pita. so- gotta figure it out -

so far - here's what I don't understand - if the car is off - it's impossible to get the pedal to hang. comes back every time without fail. On the road - it hangs up and doesn't come all the way up sometimes. is there any reason for the hydraulics to be depressurizing enough to cause the master to not want to allow the pedal to come back? maybe its the flow of new fluid to the master that is the issue?

Question on the PDAs light. Looking at the gauge face pic you posted, of the two bulbs, which one did you have to add? Do the bulbs just twist out? What is the association of accelerometers to the light?

i guess both are fine. I need to see how the spacers mounted. I called you earlier. was gonna ask you about the rear spring seat for solid top mounts. looks like the energy suspension one i found would be good alternative to 991 parts.

Sorry I missed your call. We used the 991 mounts with the elephant hats on John's car. They are ok but not ideal.

Post some pics of your setup. Wonder if they would work with the bilstein HD struts...HD only have a small range for spring perch adjustment, so gotta get it all right or the corner balancing is tough when you want to go low.
