So I'm thinking the issue is the return spring not being strong enough at the end of its travel. So back to the drawing board. I wonder if another spring has a higher spring rate. 964 turbo. 993 turbo, etc. maybe even the standard 964 spring...more to come.

Did you replace the clutch slave hydraulic line? If not, maybe it's ballooning and collapsing?

All that stuff is newish on my car. This is I think, an issue of how much pressure is taken up by the brakes. When the system is at full pressure, the pedal works great. Then after using the brakes, the clutch hangs. Then when the pump turns on, the pedal rises the last inch.

If the helper spring was just a little higher spring rate, it would force the master to allow the pedal to travel all the way.

Ok. Sorry to have been out of commission here. Much coming soon. Suspension madness on Aja has turned into interior madness. And I've ripped out the headliner, rear seats, rear deck, rear windows, bought new front seats, everything is going to the upholsterer next week, pop out rear windows will be going in, and on and on. So stay tuned. I have a lot to write. I have little to no time right now, but it's coming.

In the meantime, I wrote into the American 964 for sale thread....

I need to find and buy two cars for guys that found me through this thread. One wants a car and one that wants to be part of suspension madness and subsequent life madness, and wants to get greasy and earn a dbfd badge for the tail....

So if you see any good coupes, pass them on to me. I'm looking for a no bs, straight up purchase. Right price for the right car for both sides. I don't benefit here. Just helping people get involved, and they are borrowing my expertise. Hopefully I'll help them not get screwed. That's the idea at least...

thanks to your post (or maybe not it's too early to tell) I jumped in with both feet, took out my front end and PS rack. I'll replace all parts/pieces of the suspension without too much problem but my 5 meter target is what to do with my leaky rack? I was hoping to get a seal kit from ZF but nope, have to ordered from GE and could take 12 weeks, Rennbay or KLA is a no-go for 964's seals.

Do you or anyone following your post know where to get a 964 (89 C4) seal kit? Porsche part# 964 347 009 02 or ZF part # 7840 955 119

yeah I know I could have someone reseal it for me... but that aint no fun

thanks

The 993 rack seal kit works fine on 964 racks. I'm sure there is a thread on it here someplace. If you don't want to do it yourself, Indianapolis Rack and Axle is pretty cheap and quick.

There need to be three on order for them to print.

So keep trying or let us know and maybe a few people here would like to order as well. The sales go in two week cycles. So every two weeks if three get ordered, they print and out they go. Basically that means if I need a new one, you want one, and one other person takes the "I'm going to work on my own car" plunge and joins the dbfd frey....we all get shirts.

Today. I'm too tired to speak - or type for that matter.

Needless to say, it's been very busy around here. I'll spare the details of other people's cars on stands, and brokering cars for other guys, and trying to get some splitters installed on mine (heaven forbid I get a shot to work on my own car)...and I'll just skip forward and say the following:

Getting Aja prepped to go to the upholstery shop. Not easy, but getting there.

Sourcing pop out windows. And prepping the car to receive them.

And lots of slave labor.

And then this. Bought a cheep balancer. In a pinch it works fine. We used to use one of these years ago at the track. No issues there so why not...worked great. Balanced the front wheels on this and my Audi. . And no more shake...

Another me day. I've had the cult werk splitters ready to go for a long long time. Finally sat down to do it. Very easy, but not so easy to make exactly right. I think I got it right though...very happy.

Really appreciate the detail of the updates in your threads. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how the rear quarter pop outs turn out. I purchased a set of black anodized pop outs that I was going to install on my car, but in the end, I decided to sell them because I just haven't had the free time/money to work on my car as much as I did before. Your updates and progress might motivate me to try and find another set and give it another go.

I'm looking for a set of black pop out windows with the later green glass...

If anyone has any, please send me a pm.

The ones I have are absolute crap. So need to find one or two sets and would prefer to get oem black.
