Looking at fleabay completed items it seems like there have been several coupes that have sold for fairly reasonable prices in the last 2-3 months..from the $mid teens to $mid 20's and now there is like one coupe on there currently and it's sitting at $mid-30's. Has the market changed that quickly?

You're talking coupe manual c2??

I see a bunch of tiptronics, c4, high mileage or other but the nice coupe c2 manuals sell at way more than mid 20s.

Do you have links??

Ah, good point. I wasn't making that differentiation..just 964 coupe...suppose that does narrow the field quite a bit considering..especially the Tip ones. For me personally, the C4 is more attractive than the C2 so that one throws me every time

Not sure what to make of this; converted '87 into a 964 RS convertible? Frankomobile? Cheap though if the mechanicals are fine.

This will sell in days.

Unfortunately for me, a US car has 11% exchange rate (compared to zero in the last few years), 6.1% duty and 15% tax.. Making the car over $50k
Plus it will need a few things for maintenance (as ALL cars do) like eventually reseal the engine, sunroof and door seals.

Makes it too expensive for a Canadian to buy.

But the car is crazy clean from the pictures, you can clearly see the interior plastics have no scratches on them especially for a 100k miles car.

Beachboy, I see your point, but if you don't act soon, all the good ones will all be heading in this direction^!
Exchange rates can be a bummer either way!

It seems like the only difference is really the duty. I would think a Canadian would have this same car listed for 42k CAD, right?

No there's more to it. When you buy in Canada you don't have GST of 5%.. Also the PST is either none (like Alberta) or like
In Quebec, you can declare $1 if the car is between 10 and 25 years of age.

When you import, you have to pay both taxes on the full price paid.. And with exchange and duty, that's a lot of money (totals over 30% for Quebec)...

I absolutely hate when they don't list at reserve... So useless.
