That price *might* be good if it were a real RS. An RSA that has been club raced, modified and repainted in a different color is worth maybe a little more than half that asking price.

I do love the laugh emojis on the original Facebook post though.

His problem is threefold: 1) Someone put way too much money into a car / platform that won't ever return the investment; 2) A bone stock RSA with those miles is vastly preferred by 99% of target market and still cheaper; and 3) He's an aggressive used car guy.

But it is an incredible build. Just not one that will sell even close to that ask.

Makes you wonder what he actually paid for it and what his "reasoning" was for whatever price he offered. Probably same stuff we are saying so it's not like he doesn't know.

WIth a PPI, I'm guessing it has been wrecked. It's been pretty far apart considering the engine bay and frunk are also yellow. If it hasn't been wrecked and was just painted, for the right price, someone could turn it back into more of a street car and go back to original color.

I love it, and I think all of them are overpriced, but for what it is, it seems like a nice build. Not everyone is looking for concours stuff, some people still looking for drivers.

No question there was money spent but the sum is greater than whole in my opinion and the mileage seems irrelevant at this point.

I agree that lots of folks are looking for driver quality cars, they make up the majority of the market I would assume. But - nobody on planet earth who is looking for a driver quality 964 is considering this car. For half the price you could get one that is modified similarly or one that is stock and in driver condition.

This guy spent a lot of money modifying his car, added up all his receipts, added 20% for a profit margin and made that his price.

The target market for this car is someone who knows nothing about 964s, wants something vintage and flashy, and just got off a 3 day bender in Vegas where they won a million bucks on a progressive slot machine.

I think this was posted before but thought it was interesting that in the comments there is concern that it's back up on autotrader by Porsche Woodland Hills. Noted the same buyer/bidder for multiple cars from WOB.
No Reserve: Modified 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $84,000 on March 12, 2024 (Lot #139,311) | Bring a Trailer
Now on Autotrader
Used 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera for sale in Woodland Hills, CA 91364: Coupe Details - 709765111 - Autotrader

Also a previous 928 GTS sale that was bought by same buyer and is now being sold by Porsche Woodland Hills: (car has some history)-
sold at Broad Arrow last year $145k
1993 Porsche 928 GTS | Monterey Jet Center 2023 | Classic Car Auctions | Broad Arrow Auctions
listed on pcarmarket by Porsche Woodland Hills bid to $100k
1993 Porsche 928 GTS 5-Speed | PCARMARKET
SOLD on BaT for $121k to same buyer as the 90 964 above
No Reserve: 1993 Porsche 928 GTS 5-Speed for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $121,000 on January 31, 2024 (Lot #135,035) | Bring a Trailer
Listed again at Porsche Woodland Hills for $109k?
Pre-Owned 1993 Porsche 928 GTS 2D Coupe in Woodland Hills #00330174 | Porsche Woodland Hills

Seems odd. Broad Arrow = Hagerty = BaT... I'm not much of aconsiracy guy but something is going on here other than one person who buys cars from WOB and sells them all to a Porsche dealer in the same town.

Wob has a warehouse in Woodland Hills, so that is his home base. And let me tell you, I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from him. I know personally of 3 cars he has sold where he has straight up lied about the condition of it and then tried to deny it after the fact. I also have a friend who had Wob sell his g body cabriolet and he told me the listing had inaccuracies that Wob wasn't interested in updating. Him, 911r and Veloce are a few of the sellers I wouldn't touch with a 10 ft pole on BAT.

I wouldn't be even slightly surprised if there is shill bidding and other shenanigans going on with him and his listings. I agree it seems very odd he keeps listing cars and then they show up at PWH immediately after with a 15% margin. If they are truly doing that much business, why would Wob even be posting on BAT, why wouldn't he just sell directly to PWH.

There is also a trend where cars are RNM'ing on BAT and then being sold on PCarmarket and somehow drawing bigger numbers. No offense to the Pcar folks, but that platform is a stagnant community and tends to draw lower bids in general, so I'm surprised that they are magically getting the right bidders for the exact same cars mere weeks or months after an RNM on BAT.

Because of all of this, I have decided I'm never buying from an online auction site again (done it 3x times unfortunately). Like they say, you buy the seller, not the car. And I would never buy those sellers.

The 964 was referenced here earlier: 964 with unusual mods
It was originally offered through Porsche Woodland Hills, then listed as a no-reserve auction and sold on BaT with Wob, now re-offered through Porsche Woodland Hills
Wob = Porsche Woodland Hills
I don't trust any of these scamming SOBs

That makes the buyer on those 2 cars a potential shill bidder and considering WOB says they recently partnered with BaT (BaT Partner - WOB Cars), "seems" to make BaT complicit in this. That's some painful stuff if true.

Not good reading this kind of stuff. If I were going to sell my 964, I have offers from people I know (not dealers) who I can sell to without having to list it. If I were going to go the public listing route to play the market, I would contact Cobalt.

It has to be shill bidding that backfired (and money probably never changed hands), it just doesn't make sense otherwise. As you'll notice they were all No Reserve auction and all for Wob. So there was incentive to drive the prices up. Got caught out as highest bidder on accident and just put it up for sale on PWH.

The 928 sold on BAT for 121k plus 5k in fees and then being offered 109k so that's a loss of at minimum 17k.

On the 964, it sells for $84k plus fees (so really $89k) plus whatever dealer prep costs and profit margin are built into it. SO best case scenario they make $8k?

it just doesn't make sense unless it is shill bidding that backfired and the money never changed hands. Otherwise this dummy would stop bidding on cars and flipping them for losses to the same person.
