They are even allowing the noteworthy dent in the passenger fender to remain so there is no mystery to the buyer as to the extent of the damage. Its an honest 1990 C4! Love to know why it was allowed to sit quietly for so long!
I wonder if it can be removed by an expert pointless dent removal guy? The wheels? Not to my taste but they would stay with the car if I had it in my garage...

I suspect based on the hype it will do well but not worthy of big money IMO. Not sure where the early build info comes from.

IIRC I would need to do some research but I believe the wheels were intended to be used on the stillborn 965 project.

PDR would make quick work of that dent, literally repaired in less than 30 minutes like it never happened.

My car came from the factory with these wheels (although mine were polished/chrome looking) - they were advertised as lightweight but I never actually weighed them to know if that's true. Would be interesting to know if they were meant for the 965 at some point.

The factory never supplied chromed wheels. The finish I see in the picture seems to be the correct finish for those wheels.
Although the TSB's don't show the wheels as approved they are listed in the PET

Apparently there are 964 sizes
P/N
964.362.112.01 6" ET 52.3
964.362.114.01 7" ET 55
964.362.116.01 8" ET 52.3
I suspect yours is a rare example with these.

Pretty cool story behind this one. Obviously, a very strong price for the mileage.

Really good dent person could probably remove it.

Haven’t seen a color combo like that one before. Higher mileage example and shift **** shows it.

Yeah, it was a factory 'Farbmusterwagen' (color sample car) owned by the factory and used in advertisements, events, etc.

It sold previously in 2019 by Bonhams. Their explanation of its background & provenance was better: https://cars.bonhams.com/auction/258...zz96zms407838/

It was hammered at $186,000 plus buyers premium... Would love to see the build sheet as it was one special car...

It looks very similar to Tahoe Blue which was a special order color available in various periods of the 964 generation.

It's definitely not chrome, that's why I put them in quotes, I was just trying to illustrate it's not a typical painted looking finish - it's more like a diamond cut or polished finish.

It is code 395 below - 16" Flatdish forged wheels, silver (made by Fuchs). They look identical to these: https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/d...forged-wheels/

I don't really love the way they look and it must be a rare option because I don't think I've ever seen another one with them (for good reason).

To my eye it looks a lot like Gemini blue, maybe that's it?
