@jreifler Excellent point on the wheels and I will take you up on the suggestion. This community (and in particular the 964 crowd here on rennlist) truly are legit people that care about others as much as their cars.
I sincerely appreciate the consistent support and ideas.
Now, off to do yet another compression test as someone is asking for a warm engine compression test. I did a leak down this time last year (about 500 miles ago) but it is still being requested. I’m tempted to ignore and just use last years numbers, but I don’t want to let a potential bidder down.
I wouldn't ever ignore, just saying I am tempted to because the test was already done 500 miles ago. I'm just going through the hassle of repeating the test for the sake of showing today's numbers. If that makes sense?

Yeah. Also maybe I missed it, but if I was a buyer I would want a shot of the underside of the engine.
@dmaddox I realize you never know who a buyer is, so you have to humor peope but man... that guy hassling you about rear seat-betls. He has never sold anything, never won anything, never even bid on anything but he damn sure likes to ask people about rear seat belts. Hopefully he's just looking for something to put his kids in the back of.
Wow, @jeff33702 that's hilarious. I have wondered at times if people just love trolling auction sites to harass people. Gotta have rear seat belts. I just assumed maybe he has little kids - but there are sets of 964 rear seat belts for sale for less than 200$ all over the internet, or if he should choose to buy new from Porsche, they are still available, there, too.
Anyway - just working on getting the compression test done. I might be able to get to it sooner than Saturday, just depends on when I can leave the office to do it. #6 and 3 are the only real hassle, particularly 6 tucked behind everything. Otherwise its just time.
As far as the under engine photos - There are some, along with video as well. Enjoy the morning, fellas.
I also find it interesting that people have been telling me "there are SOOOOO many guards red 964's". At least on BaT, there hasn't been a single Carrera 2 coupe in guards in five years. The last one was May 2019: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...911-carrera-3/
The majority are RS America.

there was 1 in March, 2 in Jan 2024 , 1 in Oct and 1 in June 2023 and more going back.
In any case is this the end of your 964 journey? have any other fun car lined up or on the wish list?

haha:
also, the rear seat belts should look like this: they go into the slots at the top of the parcel shelf. I don't see yours in the photos.
Really? Maybe I am not searching correctly: https://bringatrailer.com/search/?s=1993+Porsche+911
Yes, there are Carrera 4's....RS Ameria....Targa's.....Convertibles.....but no 1993 C2 Coupes in guards red. I believe I DO, in fact, have those shoulder belts, they are just tucked in. I'll know more this evening - and will update with photos.

ah. If you are only looking at 1993 then possibly but across all years there have been several C2
Lol. @dmaddox Don't sweat the silly requests. Always look at the asker's history of bids / comments before deciding how much attention they deserve. In the water-cooled BaT world, these are the DME hounds, the paint meter nerds, the tire date code-obsessed. They ask the same annoying questions in every auction and never bid and never will.

The first 200+ 89 964's were all guards red. The famous poster shows it. I have a friend who attended the event and her car is one of the ones pictured. She had it up until 2018 when she moved and I helped her sell it for $44k which was ll the money at the time. It was a very low mile example but had a lot of RuF parts on it since she managed the first RuF authorized shop here in the US. If only I had the money at the time to add another. My experience shows me that black is probably the most common with red a close second then white. I recently picked up a GT4 in guards red and I think it is a great color. We always called it arrest me red for a reason that no longer exists. A small red 911 in the 90's and earlier amongst all the bland cars of the day stood out for miles and was usually driving a bit faster than the 55 MPH speed limit of the time so it made for a target the police could always rely on. Today red is nothing compared to all the jelly bean and PTS colors that stick out even more and most every car is painted some extreme color.
I love it when people ask me if I know of any (specific Color insert here) 964's. I always say find a mechanically sound car than focus on the paint condition and lastly color. But people want what they want and I see far too many buy cars with huge needs because of the color. GL I suspect there is a guards red 964 lover that would love to have your car. I also have a spare set of rear seat belts if needed for the sale.
Thank you Anthony, @cobalt - very kind. I've always secretly wanted you to review my car, living fairly close. I've followed all the work you'd done on your blue 964 with the wing. So clean, everything as it should be. You also helped with quite a bit of insight when I was working on my brakes (which, by the way, I have a set of 965 front rotors in the box, 124 miles on them, you are welcome to as spares, if the seat belts become an issue).
I've always appreciated your help and insight. If someone were interested in my car, they're saving 20k just in preventative stuff. I know the details are looked over when everyone dives into the photos, but all of the bushings, rear spring plates, suspension work, steering work and countless hours of research and parts hunting for the 993 brakes. Hard to sell how difficult and time consuming (let alone expensive...i.e. about 16K with the carriers and so on) the brake job was. I tell myself it was a 15K education I get a 1K rebate on, ha!
Out of curiosity what are you hoping to get?
My guess is you'll at least pull 100 to 105.
Was hoping I'd be wrong, but looks like it just closed at 107. With the condition was hoping it might go for higher... But Seems like at this age (years, not mileage)
, the really high bidders want a rebuild.
