Pretty surprising actually. That room wasn’t kind and lots of cars went cheap or didn’t come very close to reserve. I guess it shows the strength of the 964 market.

When you say a room was not kind, what are you implying? Was it Rowdy? Randy? Cad?

lol in this case it means full of people who either don’t have or don’t want to spend money.

Very little action on several cars, most of the spending came from online it seemed and even that was sparse. The auctioneer was having to do a lot of work to get money to even somewhat respectable numbers, very slow, etc.

I will say a lot of the cars were poor quality so part of the problem was just a lack of quality so people weren’t willing to spend money on garbage. But usually at auctions, garbage sells lol. It’s the entire BAT sales model.

My 1993 is now up on BaT - I would appreciate any help and support in getting the word out. As many of you know, I have shared the blood/sweat/tears of this build on the forums. I poured my soul into this one! Thank you, friends.

Out of curiosity what are you hoping to get?
My guess is you'll at least pull 100 to 105.

Thought it looked familiar. Incredible build. Was going through it and noticing we've done almost everything identically except your brakes / our coilover choices. These cars are so good when setup right. GLWS!

Thank you @jreifler means a lot - knowing your stable! I appreciate it. @mic_crispy I would hope for a tad more being a 1993 and having such a solid car with documentation. I could be wrong, however my fingers are crossed! The car is ready for war - and worse case, someone may want cups on it, which they can swap out. I'd say (maybe just cause I'm biased) but based on several 964's I have driven, this is more than just a driver quality car. I hope someone else will see that value. Thank you, friends!

Good luck! I've got a very similar car (93 C2) in very good condition.. although it's white with a bit more miles (119k), and a fully rebuild motor. I wouldn't let go for less than 130... So perhaps yours should pull more like 115 looking At recent auctions.

What a nice example of a tastefully hot rodded 964.

Thanks, Mark! I've restored several cars over the years and one thing I always hate is when a car is modified beyond a bolt-on. Cutting, welding, wide body kits, and so on ruin the value (at least for me). If someone wanted, they could put this car right back to oem, toss some CUP 1's on and enjoy a "relatively close" experience to an RS, or just leave as is and enjoy.

Nice car and I hope you get all the $$$ for it. I remember you saying you weren't getting a lot of interest prior. IMO it's the wheels, many can't see the forest through the trees. GLWS!

I agree, with the wheels you either love or hate them. When I bought the car it had replica cup 1's in black on the car. Super heavy wheel and one had a significant number of sticky-weights on the inside to balance it. I sought out a lightweight performance wheel and the Fuchs kept popping up. I really liked them at first (obviously) but the look never did grown on me. I appreciate your kind words, @s65e90

Dude, I think you’re gonna do 20 better than you think you will based on the quality of the auction / presentation so far. Re: wheels - People are short-sighted, but I think whoever buys this car will know that the car is literally done, and they can afford to find another 2-3k for wheels of their choice bc there’s no other deferred maintenance costs. But you should mention it towards the end of auction. “Wheels are personal and cheap. Here are links to 3 sets of Cup 1s currently for sale . . .”

@jreifler Excellent point on the wheels and I will take you up on the suggestion. This community (and in particular the 964 crowd here on rennlist) truly are legit people that care about others as much as their cars.

I sincerely appreciate the consistent support and ideas.

Now, off to do yet another compression test as someone is asking for a warm engine compression test. I did a leak down this time last year (about 500 miles ago) but it is still being requested. I’m tempted to ignore and just use last years numbers, but I don’t want to let a potential bidder down.

Thanks again!
