I will comment that my C2 has option 220 and the old ZF LSD's weren't anything special. The later units used on the 993 are more substantial and can be converted to a multi disc setup unlike the single friction disc of the 40/40 unit. Mine wore out at 50k miles. Easy enough to rebuild but it is only good for spirited street driving.

Many feel the same as you - I'm a modder at heart and this RSA is killing me right now as I want to do my normal build thing but then, to your point, why not just a C2? All specialty models can be duplicated or at least people can take their favorite parts from them. Even the row RS can be (and has been on some of the great builds I've seen here) duplicated and exceeded. Personally, I cant see paying even a $50k upcharge for a row RS car - certainly not $200k over a C2.

I debated the ODO reset after my resto but left it at the original mileage. Happy that I did that in hindsight.

I never knew this. You can legally set back an odometer after a complete restoration? How is this possible?

I do not think that you can legally do that no. Certainly not in France where my 964 is.

RSA was my actual high school poster car, so was always a bucket list buy for me. Back then, I didn't know what a true RoW was, but now that I do, it's next on the list for 964. I don't think the RSA will or should get RS $ and love, but I do think it will continue to outpace similar condition C2s, if only for the rarity and historical provenance. Non-sunroof is a big plus for me and others as well. So, I'll take the upward trend and hope it gets me 3/4 of the way to a driver's condition RS in a few years. Meanwhile, I love everything about the RSA, and do think it offers a bit of the "more than sum of its parts" experience you get from an RS car.

Think it depends on what you mean by "legally." We can obviously mechanically alter our odometers. Whether it's "legal" just boils down to whether and how you notate the change on the title should you re-register or sell.

They do. Sat in a "80 mile" Singer Targa this weekend. It was a 2023 build, for whatever that's worth.

Flachbau package car at Marshall Goldman in Beverly Hills. Lots of Sonderwunsch options in it too.

price on inquiry but any guesses what it’s going for?

They bought it for $995k end of last year. Car was involved in a accident in the mid 2000’s. Cincinnati police reported a right side impact with another vehicle. Incident shows up on the Autocheck report, but for some reason Carfax missed it.

Why woudn't fix the frown on the front end. Even my C2 looks better and it has 135K miles and lots of track time on it.

I'm always impressed by how much you (and cobalt) know about all the cars trading and their histories.

That description at Sotheby's omits the impact (instead talking about preservation of all paintwork or some such). I also loved how they called it a G series Turbo too. You think they would take a little more caution on a million dollar car.

Ends today. At $245k with 2 and a half hours to go. Think it will go for high 2’s low 3’s. I personally wouldn’t pay much more than what it’s at now.

Nice car, still don't understand BAT and the peanut gallery. I think I'd rather lose money that deal with half of the questions/posts. And I'll never get P car people and their obsession with colors.

RNM at 270k high bid. Honestly for a car with that much paintwork and high miles (for an RS), I thought that number was generous. Not sure what the seller thinks he can get out of it, but I don't think the market is willing to pay big money for non-collector examples right now.
