BTW finally getting the engine in the car you built back together. The timing was heavily retarded. Was that for power? Not sure who rebuilt the engine last but it was clean.
Hey Anthony,
How retarded? Not generally something I would do for power on these so probably not me
Good luck with it

😜 That part didn't look like your work. The engine appears to have been rebuilt not long before I purchased it based on what I found when opening it. Maybe something Autometrics did?

Hope all is well with you.

Clean title? Any accident history? Will it pass smog in CA (the CA registration/smog issue always comes up on BaT)? How complete was the repaint (glass out? full interior? frunk?) - any signs of the original color?
IMO a no accidents, no excuses car should pull at least your asking price in the current market. Best of luck however you decide.

Cabs are starting to draw much stronger money - I assume because of the availability of coupes and targas is dwindling. I'd say 60k-65k is possible depending on actual condition and assuming it is a C2 manual cab. This one is probably a decent comparable to yours: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-cabriolet-13/. It's a C4 but a more unique color so probably a wash.

Unique colors (which this isn't obv) can drive that higher as evidenced by the white cab with magenta interior that sold on BAT last week: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-cabriolet-20/

Pretty grungy looking for 30k miles. It's begging for a proper detail.
I'll give it a proper detail when it arrives and then post some pics.

My first Porsche was an '89 911 C4, black/black, that I absolutely loved. I bought it very cheap and sold it cheap back when they were still in the 20k range. Owned it for 7-8 years and sold it with 110k miles because it needed like 5k in service and I tried multiple[le times to get the A/C to work and couldn't do it. It was a daily driver for me, so I sold it.

Of course I regret selling that C4, and now got the RS as an upgrade, at almost 10x the price. Of course even my old C4 is probably worth 4x what I sold it for.

Anyway, glad to rejoin the 964 clan after 10+ years of absence.

Yes, the Turbo S is going nowhere. But 964 RS has been a desire for a long time. I think of it as the GT3 touring of the 90s. Nice to see the 964 Turbo has been with you so long as well. A keeper for sure.
