I would say that Hagerty valuation rarely exceeds the true market, but it would create a bump in their premiums if they were high.
current conversion is 0.74 US to 1.00 Canadian. that would put a #2 C4 at $116,920 and a #3 at $87,320. those seem high to me, but not significantly. the #3 at $87k seems a bit more realistic than a #2 at $116.9k. the market has also dipped in the last 12 months, but i see these numbers are as of 2/7/24, so appropriate compensation should be factored in.

Hello all, was out driving my 991.1 GT3 RS last Saturday, nice day. A gentlemen what I believe was a 964 pulled up to me, and I fell in love.
Such a simpe elegant car. Wife has been floating the idea of getting a 911 Convertible as another fun car. I really like the 964 convertible.
WHere is the best place to look for a 964 convertible? A bit a project car is fine.
I would start right here. Best place to find a good one is within the 4 walls of this 964 section. You probably need to ups your membership, but then you can post a wanted ad and see what you find. The people who post here regularly tend to the the kind of people you want to buy a car from. And much more knowledgeable than the average dealer.
There are obviously plenty on BAT, pcarmarket, etc but I've yet to see a good quality one in person that was purchased through those sites (including my own) so I don't like the odds on those.

LOL and at that price it would stop you. . I remember those days and sadly we thought it was overpriced at the time. Back then when I bought my C2 the RSA was commanding the same or less as the C2's. They were thought of as a budget car. That quickly changed.

based on how things appear right now, i'd have to say the 997.1 and 997.2 GT3 RS. the RSs are commanding very strong money at the moment and i do not see that changing.

997.2 RS will definitely be the one. The 4.0 RS even moreso. 997.1RS is fine but it benefits more from the fact that 997.2 have gotten very expensive so people view it as a "next best" option.
Low production numbers (only 541 made it to the US, 17 to Canada), last manual RS, best looking of the series (subjective I know but those decals are the best they ever did) and .2s are always more valuable in general. Already very common to see great examples over 300k, really special colors/specs can go much higher.
I almost pulled the trigger on 997.2 3RS a few years ago, it was white with champagne graphics with 30K miles. It sat for many months, price drops to $130K as it had high miles and rear bumper repaint. That was a big mistake but I did recently get into a 7.2 3RS of sorts.
It’s a 2011 GT3 Cup which is the first model that the Cup was built on the 3RS wide body platform. It’s the 964 forum so I won’t go on too much about how much I love this car but it’s the cheapest way to enjoy a 7.2 GT3 platform on track. I also have a 2019 GT3 RS and I have to say that the RSA is staying and probably the GT3 Cup. In a push it will be my really high spec low miles 991 RS that will go first. .. and yes I did drive around the block.. I got some strange looks kangaroo’ing at 20mph with the sequential box and no low end power
997.2 GT3 RS and 964 USA Cup are for sure the keepers for me. Couldn’t choose between them as they are both phenomenal in their own ways. They are a great pair complementing each other from the way they drive and aesthetically as both are white (RS has optional white gold graphics). Sold my 2016 GT3 RS a couple years ago to get my 964. Have no regrets about that decision. While the 991 RS was a great car you had to be pushing very hard in order to get some excitement out of it. These newer DFI GT3 motors really explode in the last thousand or so RPM to redline. Though with the high performance capabilities of these cars it can make it quite difficult and risky to drive this way frequently. While the 997.2 RS you could argue is also too fast for the street the car has a more satisfying mid range sound and feel that doesn’t tempt me nearly as much to rev it out all the way. My 964 is not overwhelmingly fast though perfectly sufficient. The car at speed feels light and the engine is very free revving with the LWFW. Porsche actually used the same LWFW in the 964 RS for quite awhile in other subsequent models. Used up until at least the 997.1 RS. Think the 997.2 is when they switched to a slightly lighter flywheel.
