1st Gen TSFI 07k were DI only (Found in the Mk2 TTRS). Iroz made a billet lower intake manifold that added port injectors.
2nd Gen 07k 'Evo' were DI + PI (Mk3 TTRS/RS3)

to New Zealand? Mad!

Are you doing the swap into a 944 then, or is this for another build? Would be very keen to hear what you've got planned and compare notes.

The design makes it really easy to wire in additional inputs, and I like that it can send CAN data to their dash logger or almost any other brand.

The little power distribution box is also quite slick.

Now, the only question for me is, attempt by register my 951 as a "collector" vehicle in CA, or form a shell corporation in Montana?

Chris,
if you can find property in a more rural county and register the car there you won't get smogged anymore; probably 1/3 of CA requires smog only at time of sale.

they've been cracking down on the MT registrations...

+1, looks like a great setup! Definitely will be picking one up once I get the 968 into the garage to start work.

Yeah mate its due into Lyttleton. Mine isn't for a Porsche its destined for an Audi CQ. There's just so much useful information here for the engine . I'm always keen to share things I learn, for sure.

Just a matter of a PO box out in the hinterlands somewhere...
Also keeps the CA plate, and stops you from being unnecessarily targeted by the CHP.
I understand that vehicle registrations are their sole source of funding, making them highly motivated to correct 'improper' ones.

Has anyone compared the before and after weight distribution of the swap?

Not that I’m aware of. Alan’s car was corner balanced when it had the LS so we can compare it like for like against that. We’d have to get stock info from someone else though. It definitely moves some weight further back, just not sure how drastic of a change it will be.

Random thought,
Since the 924, Audi 80/Fox/ and VW Golf/Rabbit cars have their
roots in the VW minibus of the late 60's,
Wouldn't this engine be rad pulling a classic VW minibus up PCH
to First Point in the Bu, w/ longboards sticking out of the roof.

Does anyone know the part number for the tt rs crank pulley that fits the 07k or are they all the same? Also I have been looking at purchasing a turbo but have no experience with them. I know I want something around the 58 to 70 Ib/m flow rate for a boosted stock motor with potentially a cam and springs. I have narrowed down my turbo choices to the hx 35, (he 351 cw and ve) and gt3788va. Which turbo would have the quickest spool and will variable geometry turbos work on the ecu? Also will the efficiency of a 70Ib/m turbo over a 58Ib/m turbo offer any benefits? I can't see myself ever pushing more than 560hp and will more likely in the 460-510hp range.

Thanks!

I would go to the modern g30-700 turbo.
Super easy spool and a perfect match for a 07k

What’s your budget for a turbo? I can help you with the best option at whatever price range you have in mind.

I would like to keep my budget below 800$ unless there is a huge benefit from something more expensive.

The issue with turbo’s is there isn’t a lot of options in the middle of the road. Here are my suggestions at certain price points.

Under $600:

HX35 w/ T3 .82 Turbine Housing like my video

Chinese turbo, specifically the X series from CXRacing - https://www.cxracing.com/TRB-SGT3076-82-V-RRB

Under $1500:

Garrett GTX3071R Gen 2 - https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing...x3071r-gen-ii/

Borg Warner S300 - https://agpturbo.com/borg-warner-s36...-68-billet-62/

Over $1500:

Garrett G Series, take your pick - https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing...rmance-turbos/
