Made some 3/4 dyno pulls at 1 bar with base M Tune maps and things are looking encouraging. All goals are still on the table. The bottom end torque is looking to be pretty special. New exhaust should be done next weekend and also should have my ignition sorted also. About 2 weeks out from full dyno runs.

Looking and sounding good. Keep up the great work!

Sure wish someone had an in-ground dynojet like that around me.... Everybody around here has above-ground units -- some way above ground.

Thanks Tom! Yes, this dyno is just a few miles from my house and it is only $50 for 3 pulls on Thursday nights.

Hoping to finish up my 3" exhaust in the next couple of days. Pretty happy with it thus far. I really enjoy fab work. Total cost including Ebay OBX muffler was $240.

Is it stainless? If so where did you get the materials. I am contemplating building a new exhaust off the down pipe section I have.

nice work Shawn. I'll just warn you, it'll be loud. I have 2 mufflers in my car and it's still loudish.

Downpipe is stainless but from the downpipe back it is not. Bought the 3" tubing from Summit, flanges and muffler from Ebay.

Basically the same muffler setup as I had before with the 2.5" exhaust so I would suspect it will not be to much different. Car was a bit loud but nothing obnoxious.

How is the ignition coming along? Did you get to the bottom of the bum coil or just replace it? I've never had anything but good luck with MSD stuff, but not sure I'm the norm...

I sent my HVC II into MSD for RMA evaluation and am expecting it back any day. Not sure if it was bad but I suspect that it was fine. Rogue found an issue with the DME ignition circuit when using the HVC II. A resonance can occur under certain conditions that causes the DME to overheat and I believe that was what caused my DME to occasionally reset. He has done a bunch more testing and analysis and will be posting on the results soon. He made a slight modification to my DME (a capacitor I believe) that eliminates the resonance. I now have the tuner/logger package back in the car. I am hoping to test everything in the next week.

I remember something similar happening to people with the blaster 2 coil when the ballast resistor wasn't used.

The issue is with the main ignition driver not latching 'off' properly. By giving it a little help, and the correct dwell-timing, the HVC-II coil is absolutely fine. The Blaster 2 coil does exhibit a small similarity to the HVC-II effect, but really shouldn't be an issue.
I will update the ignition thread, and my website shortly.
