I just saw your post. I didn't see you this year at Amelia. Wow, I saw this and I didn't realize it would sell for so much. My car is equally as clean but more miles. I suspect the market for these is still growing with that number. I guess my Insurance value of $95k needs to be increased. I bumped into someone who worked for Holbert motors when my GTS was sold at Amelia. He gave me the full history on my car before it was sold. My readings are consistently high and the patena says it is original. Apparently the clear had issues from the factory and they had the car disassembled wet sanded and cleared before ever being titled. Not happy but what can you do. Still a great example. So is that considered original paint if it was done prior to sale? I see more and more cars with stories like this?
If that re-clear is documented at the factory I would consider it original paint AND a bonus. That's a similar exercise as done to the cars prepped by the factory destined for the auto shows.
There's a particular set of Z-options that went along with the cars that were prepped for the IAA shows in the early 90s, reflecting extra prep at the factory: ('Scuse the sketchy Google translations...)

Hmm, but I don`t have a gold donkey in the basement! I have two projects and the new S needs also my attention.
I have a forgiving wife but I don't test my luck too much....
She is skiing in the Alps and I'm on the road with the new car. If someone is interested I can visit the red one.
From the pictures I'm sure you can buy it blind.

doesn't 42k euro seem like a bit much for a 100,000 mile car even if condition is very good?
This car is at the dealership.I think he has bought it for 30-35.000 €
Brakes , waterpump and timing belt are done.
I payed 24.000 € for a 155.000 miles car with the same stats and I know the brakes and engine mounts are toast, timing belt service should be done.
How much is a 86.5 five speed in the US in this condition?
If paint, interior and mechanics are good the better car is the cheapest one.
John Raysich, the late great Porsche specialist in Bridgeville PA (just outside of Pittsburgh) worked on 2 of the original Callaway 928s back in the day. This is very likely one of them.
Buying that Callaway twin turbo is like buying a hand grenade that's already had the pin pulled. Keep a tight grip on it and be careful where you throw it!
Also like buying a piece of great history - so someone should save it for sure!

It looks to be in good condition...
Who will the lucky soul be?
Interesting mannequin!
I had a customer with one and after the second engine he put a 89GT engine in.
