Pretty early VIN Euro for sale on Ebay 9288100155. Production #145 built around May 1977. No affiliation
Interesting to note that it probably has original early fenders delivered with no parking lights in either location. US parking lights have been added, minimally federalized, single mirror, but has an unfortunate JC Whitney sunroof job. The pictures are terrible for details but I suspect this car was born silver.
Some later parts on it here and there but if one likes lower VIN cars it could be worth a look. STAN this is in your neighborhood.
^^^^^It was born silver, production # is actually 75, for whatever that's worth.
Are you familiar with this car? What have you seen that makes it production #75? That would mean that "pre production" went to car #69 or 9288100079... this is something I have never been able to determine.
What else do you know about this car? have you seen the # stamp on the inside the deck lid?
FYI - Bidding got to €71K (EURO) but didn't meet reserve, so not sold. Thought it may have reached more, but maybe the wrong time of year and high $$ GTS are not easy to move in EU right now for some reason.
Not mentioned as far as I know. And given the price a lower km GTS just got passed in as per my post above, it is really insane how different the US and EU markets are right now on low mile manual GTS!!!

Note, to self, buy euro 928 gts, put on boat to america........
Mis-represented production number (twice) and panel painted 78 US car brings home almost $90K of bacon at Scottsdale. This USA VIN 9288200029 was first represented as the 29th built (it wasn't) then corrected to be the 19th 928 built (not that either) Even the PCA pundits were talking about it being the 19th car built. Got to love the free market!
RoW ‘92 GTS finished in Amazon Green/Light Grey and with a manual transmission going up for auction at Bonhams in France. Very highly and nicely specced example with 58k km (~36k miles).
I watched the auction live... was passed in at €120K (approx $130,000 USD). Only 3 bidders and never really had much momentum. Obviously the seller was hoping for, but this just confirms my feelings above that the high $$ late 928 market is very soft right now in EU when even a large auction house like Bonhams can't attract good money for it.
Fun and well prepared HPDE car on BAT! Plus it can be driven on the street if you have the inclination... ;-)
I'd probably remove the Sunoco, Mobil and Texaco stickers as they confuse the livery a bit... The seller was a fuel guy so he must have felt obligated to represent other vendors...
Way fun toy!
I was contacted by an old friend who
needs to sell his 85 auto. Resprayed metallic black over gray/black interior with sport seats and an uncracked dash. 19" wheels, rebuilt engine. In south central PA. PM me if interested.
An old and long time friend of mine is looking for a new garage and driver/maintainer. It was in excellent condition when I sold it, and has many upgrades and tasteful (in my opinion) modifications. I'll try to answer any questions an interested buyer might have. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...8-gts-35/inion
