Hope the PPI goes well.
I've posted on our local list to see if anyone knows of the car..

Gotta make sure the crank end play etc is good. The rest I can tell it needs a reseal, probably an engine pull has a leaky rack and trans etc. I think it's priced appropriately but will see after this PPI.

Hopefully someone may have seen it around. Thanks all! I need another 928...not really ; ) 928's are my major weakness, who can have just one!

That car looks really nice in that pic. If Granite Green really looks like that, it's in my top 5.

Thanks Tom ; ) The car is on consignment and the dealer doesnt want to connect me until after the sale.

Makes sense but would be better to have the history from the source. I heard it was an autocrosser for the past 2 years but dont know for sure.

This owner has had it since March 2019 and the owner before them had it for 18 years. We shall see,

Beautiful Color! Hope it works out to your liking. If it was me, first thing I'd do would be to take that Authority Chip out and install Porken's latest version.

Heck, the previous owner records show these autothority chips keeping idle between 1100 and 1500. Original chips replaced and it was fixed. I'd have to research the porker chips, seems everytime I start customizing, it turns out bad. Stock seems to work fine 🙂

Hey Christian you have a 68 912? I had a sahara beige 68 912, was so much fun, but i was too young and did not know how to tune the carbs. That thing either went to 6k or it did not run at all. So much fun when it ran.

Ya I cant say its the chips, shoot I havent even seen the car in person, per the records the shop swapped the originals back in and it idled fine. My guess is it had other issues at the time.

Did not get a chance to tie out with the PPI shop today other than the crank endplay is in spec. So that is awesome news. Hopefully finish the deal out tomorrow and it's on it's way soon.

Bump for the Green Machine (post 8776) '78 #0941.
We are selling the house in TX, and I have no garage up here.
Price now $17K. BTW, the title says that is a 1974 model year, to make registration easier in all 50 states.

I had an AA EZK chip in my S4, idle was never high. I now have Ken’s chip and the car runs 1000% better.

Ok well, no go for me on the granite green. All I can say is, get a PPI if you are considering a 928.

Another purchaser is writing a full price offer. I hope they get a PPI.

That's too bad. Can you share any findings that gave you pause?

This one was driving in 2017 at least. I believe this is the same car posted in the Spotted in the Wild thread here:

Entire left side of car has been repainted and some of the right rear.

Unfortunately I could not view the car in person - so it took the pics from the PPI to show the dash pod plus dash is cracked, window trim missing,, some electricals not working and then oil leaks from every engine seal and trans is soaked all around.

I dont mind the mechanical, I expected to put 10 to 15k in it to put it where I wanted it, but the car being half painted was too much for me.

Mechanically, to do what we all know it needs - pull engine and trans and reseal, needs control arm/ball joints, just too much.

Color did look the part, was in love with the color combo, but that wont make up economically for the input costs.

+1. If more people thought like this, my 87 5spd with factory paint, unique interior, and documented engine refresh would probably be sold by now.
