I was going to post that of all 928's that don't need a GB stroker it's the 89GT, but looking through the comments, I see that the original engine got toasted by bad powdercoating/cleaning and Greg was able to save the original block...so I'll now say, good save and probably the best 89GT out there

Holy moly. When it comes to value and desirability, there appear to be two exceptions to the rule of "stock and original":
"Under the care of GB or RE."

Looks like a heeluva car, but it seems like potentially someone trying for the knockout blow early. Will be interesting to see where it ends up

Is that an auction or just a dealer sale? The web page is extremely well done, but I think they're missing the boat by not using BAT for this one.
$61,500 seems like a very decent price considering what other nice, low mileage '78s have brought over the last 12 months. Of course, that is if it's as nice in person as it looks in photos.

Looks like a flip!
The photos are quite oversaturated and it looks better than it is. However, it is original and that can't be replicated...
I did a long walk around video chat with the previous seller and there is a significant color mis-match from both fading and a re-spray of a fender because it st in a garage with a window and sun hitting it.
Should be interesting to watch!

I think it could be a really good value and entry point into the marque. I like it as a solid seeming driver.

That's big money for a non-GTS. Peaked to it's potential early. Too bad as it was a bit anti-climatic, but still a strong sale number.

I came across these two 928s on another site that I frequent.
Hopefully someone here sees this and can rescue them, the cars are located in SLC, UT:

Details.
1980 Porsche 928 -
Last ran in 2007. It has a VIN of 92A0810990 it has about 125k miles on the odometer. It was dropped off by a customer who had a number of these cars. This one allegedly started recently, but I feel it needs more work that is worth my time to make sure it runs safely. It is a project car. Needs a new interior at the least. The engine looks very clean other than the dust meaning no significant leaks. all body panels line up nicely and show no significant damage. Ugly paint, but that won't affect making it a good driver. $2995 takes it. I will help to load for free and can help to arrange to ship. No apparent rust on the car. Clear Utah title. Feel free to text or call 801-699-6542.

1984 Euro 928S - VIN wp0zzz92zes840658. 52k miles on the odometer. This vehicle was last run about 17 years ago in 2005. It has the highly desirable dual distributor 928S 4.7 liter Euro Engine. The customer begins to fix it up and quit and let it sit. Shows no leaks under the car. The car has a clear Utah Title. The body is straight with rust in the rear left quarter panel. Needs full paint and an interior. The exterior panels line up very nicely. Appears to be little prior damage to the car. Needs a good home with a mechanically inclined owner. Happy to help arrange transport or help load for free. $5995 takes it as it is. This is not a perfect car but is a perfect project car. Feel free to text or call 801-699-6542.
