It’s gotta be about the most “unmolested” 928 you’ll find; untouched by hands “learning” how to work on a 928. Whoever bought it better take it to the very short list of 928 wrenches that won’t screw it up.
G0D@m1+, already showing signs of molestation! Where’s the headlight motor’s rubber hat?

Underpriced for sure!

Given the restoration/maintenance by Dave C. this car is well above most cars in its class.

I'd grab it, but I have several similar cars and I'm not a flipper... (yet)... ;-)

Very nice car indeed. I like the momo evo steeringwheel, the same as in my car. According to the german firm that sold it, my wheel came from a 1992 GTS...

The seller did not even own the car for 1.5yrs. And I believe I know the story of the headlight hat. I hope that all of the original parts, including radio, steering wheel, muffler, etc went with the car to the new owner.

$89K for a 89GT (Cdn spec)....very nice result. Fun bidding (not me lol) at the end (three bidders...and then there were two......and then the winner).

For anyone that's been on a quest for 928 club sports in good condition. You're going to have to really want them though.

The PET shows these part number were specific to the 1989 model year. 8Jx16 and 9Jx16, they both have ET 60.

The PET shows different part numbers for 1990 GT/S4. 7.5Jx16 ET 65 and 9Jx16 ET 52.3.

Does anyone know the reason for the slightly different sizes? Is the suspension different from 89 to 90. Does it have anything to do with the rolling/flaring of the fenders?

Have a 91 GT. Will these 89 wheels work on my 91? Will they look correct on my 91?

Thanks in advance for your time on this?

89 GT rims are forged vs cast 90 and up GT Design 90's. 89 GT also came with a factory spacer (17mm on the rear). AFAIK all GT's 89 and up had "rolled" fenders so spacing should be OK for you to fit the CS rims. Keep in mind that the 8" CS rims are the rare ones (with 60mm offset). There are 7" variants as well as some with different offsets (both 8" and 9"), so close inspection is critical.
The look of the Design 90's (90 and up GTs) is very similar to the 89CS/GT rims so only a discerning eye would probably notice.
Here's a googled pic of the two (from a 944 site)....

I agree with the above. The club sports would fit your car but are very expensive due to the rarity and forged construction. I bought a set of d90s that were the 928 spec for a few hundred dollars and had them refinished. Much less money, and d90s were the original wheels for most of the GTs I believe. Another difference is that d90s were painted silver and the cs were anodized. The anodizing is susceptible to some cleaners and more involved/expensive to properly reanodize so a set of d90s are more straightforward in that regard, unless you decide to polish or paint the cs instead of anodize. If you can find 928 spec d90s they will also have the tire pressure system that i think your car also desires. There were d90 wheels on both 944s and 964 911s that do not have the sensors. They also have different widths and offsets than the 928 wheels. People are practically giving away or just keeping in storage the 964 spec as they are so common. My 87 928 s4 came with 964 spec d90s. Rears fit fine as they were the identical size as the 87 oe rear. Fronts were the real issue. They are only 6" wide and needed spacers to clear the calipers which resulted in an offset of about 42mm instead of the desired 65. They fit and looked ok, but the steering was incredibly light with that offset and tended to understeer with such a narrow tire. I still have that 964 set for sale if I haven't scared away everyone here with my glowing review, lol.
