Always like seeing different colours come up for sale. Right now there is an '87 S4 manual for sale in Germany with L999 paint - like a bronzy-gold. Not really my cup of tea but I think it actually suits the car. Asking €43,000 done 140K km.

The ‘in between’ category of “drivers that just get fixed enough to make them run” is a dwindling set and most will end up in the junk yard set with their next owner. This is one of those assuming it sells.

Sounds like the 914 market years ago. Over 100k made, how few remain? My GTS is not in need of restoring but with 67k miles it is no collector car. I am fixing everything I can to keep it as fresh as day one. Although I have put 2k miles on it this year a lot more than other years. Sadly the others got neglected this year. Only 1500 on my Boxster GTS, 1k on my C2 and the poor turbo has maybe 140 miles on it since spring. Too many cars not enough time. My track cars see more seat time.
As a note to miles above. For the longest finding a sub 60k mile 964 was an impossibility so anything below that brought a premium. Very few honestly can claim they have less and many I see have had the speedo rolled back or changed out. Now that prices are outrageous some pristine examples are showing up but very few are honest. I was offered double market value last year for my turbo which is one of one in cobalt with black interior. With 38k miles it is far from low miles but the offer was about color and condition. Sometimes people are less interested in miles so long as the car is well maintained and the color is unique. I have people lining up for PTS anything and don't care so much about miles so long as they are well maintained. I also find that since the release of PDK and so many marques no longer making manual cars it has increased interest across the board for any manual trans car. Be it a 981 or a 928 all the same.

no service records = maintained by owner for two decades?
this one brings back strong memories. i had a white/black euro '78 5 speed many years ago. i rarely see the velour seats that my car had in other early 928s. this car has the identical interior my car had. for better or worse, this seems like a rare interior choice. this one also has the much better looking 16" dials that the euro spec cars got at the time. man, i wish i could buy my car back for what i sold it for back then.
