What are the rules on posting your own car here? In post #2 of this thread Hacker-P wrote:
Members selling their own cars will be the same as always.
I don't know what that means since there is nothing in post #1 re that issue; I think he was the moderator at that time, there have been changes to mods, and RL rules that I don't recall. My car has been accepted by BAT (finally) and "could go live within 48 hrs", that was several days ago and another GTS just went up. If there is a rule against this post, I assume a mod will remove this. Otherwise please note.

Steve - you are a paying member, so you can post here according to the rules. There is no price (a rule too) because it is going to an auction. The price requirement here is to keep this site from becoming an auction site for cars for sale. Since that would not be the case with your car on BaT, that price rule it seems to me should be exempted in this case.

Gonna be a lot of shocked faces seeing the stock market in 3 months.
There is the secret... LIQUIDITY!

It's all about liquidity and right now the Fed has begun sopping up short term funds (overnight reverse repos) while they also buy the crap out of the long term treasuries to keep the housing bubble growing. The net drawdown of liquidity is close to $200 billion per month, if that accelerates, look out below!

The Fed said when it injected nearly $5 trillion during Covid that it did not care about the consequences (at the time), That does not mean there will be no consequences...

So the jury is out, will the Fed continue its relentless liquidity programs or will it tighten?

It literally is a trillion dollar question and it holds the future $ Dollar denominated value of our cars in its hands...

This popped up in my FB feed. $3,000 for a clean, dismantled project car with two engines.

The only thing I have to say to that is: F* the car! That's my 401K you're talking about.

Hmm,

CarFax indicates that between 1990 and 2012 this 928 traveled all of 357 miles. Anyone wonder if maybe the odo gear was not functioning???

Looks fairly decent, with a "moderate accident" history.

Gary

If I put the thoughts behind these two quotes together, what I think I just heard is, time to convert the 401k into 928s to protect the retirement savings? Should be a good proposal to the wife based on sound logic! 😊

Default Is this really a 1980 928 in a 1988+ wrapper?

Just saw this on Ebay: 1980 Porsche 928. The front and rear bumper covers seem to come from a S4 and the wing from a GTS. However, the leather interior seems to be from the early 80s--e.g., front seats, seat controls, clock and radio. In any case, an asking price of $98K+ shows that the seller doesn't know the market, IMHO.

Hard to fake the date stamps in the warranty book, looks like an '80 that got a whole hell of a lot of exterior updating- H5's, S4 fogs, painted wing, metalwork on all four fenders to fit S4 front and rear bumper covers, Aero mirrors. There's an interesting story to this one....

I've seen this one in person twice, DM if you're interested and I can share more. Notable the price was cut $10k recently.
