IIRC, this car was onsale for over a year in 2017 by the previous owner who has had the car for a while but left it in his hangar. The front seats were taken out (replaced by some racing sparcos) bc they were all chewed up. It was advertised on Craigslist for $26.5k without any takers for over a year. Guess this guy bought it and recovered the seats and sounds like no mechanical things ($$$) were done. Be sure to see this car in person, bc I think the paint is also pretty worn.

Wow, that's ridiculous. That's an all inclusive price too, so the hammer was less. I assume it was a no reserve sale.

I put my 86.5 928S up for sale in the marketplace https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1163397. It's time to move on, I've had it for a while and I find myself driving my Cayman more now. It's a really clean and original (minus some updates) 928, it even still has the starting instructions sticker on the ash tray and the little tag telling you adjust the v-belt at 800 miles, the gloves and everything else that came with it. All the updates I did I tried to make them reversible and saved all the parts, no wires were ever altered on the car, always adapters made, like for the radio. All the service is up to date and it's ready to go. It has just under 81k miles on it now. More info on the car and what has been done is in the listing.....

Thanks

Wow, wish I was in the market. That looks like a fantastic car. The bright work is still bright in the engine bay. Great price too - it should not last long.

I love this color. IMO the price is not out of line for a car maintained as well as this.

I drove this car yesterday, hellblau over pascha, 5-spd slicktop. The body is straight with little rust and the motor seemed fine, but it looks like it sat out exposed for years. The interior is very rough, the paint is shot. Stupid dryer vent tubes on the intakes, no wheel liner in front passenger, brake booster not working. So sad to see what was once a fabulous car in such shape. He was asking $30K (HA!) and wouldn't take $5K for it. If I was retired maybe I'd take it on but too much work for me now. Looked like AL ball joint carriers and exhaust, but I'm not sure.

Actually sounds just like the guy who was selling it before. He started off at approx. 27k. Everytime he didn't get his asking price he decided to increase the price. After almost 5 years he was up to almost 40K. Maybe it is actually the same guy !

Oh, I don't know. To an informed buyer, the choice of pictures makes the seller very transparent with the issues.

Yes, definitely agree (though maybe the car should have been washed). I like that he posted a clear pic of the worn out driver's seat bolster. No embarrassment about the S4 intake tubes, weird hatch rug, etc,

I do not think he sells a lot of 928s. If he did he would know that was the very cool and somewhat rare Amazon Green Metallic.

Bidding is now up over $19K, reserve still not met.
