I've been restoring my 1986.5 928S, but it got past the point of being "restored" so now I'm posting the process here.
Today I reassembled the fuses & relays.
Weeks back I took all the fuses and relays out, disconnected the connectors and bathed everything in deoxit. I also had the pod out for an odometer gear replacement and re-paint of the spotted instrument cluster backing, so cleaned up the switches, too. I was having some weird issues with the headlights not retracting and the fog lights never worked. Also, when I got the car the connector for the interior lights. So I ordered new "53" fuses because they're cheap, and only new fog light and headlight relays because they're not cheap. Today I filed the fuse contacts clean and checked for continuity, and changed out the new relays. Headlights now work consistently and the fog lights turn off and on. And while fiddling in there, the interior lights kept flicking on and off. The interior light relay was intermittent so I popped it out of the cover and discovered a loose solder. With a fresh bead the relay works consistently now. It's nice to have these original problems solved!

So, I decided to build modern looking wiper Arms. First I Cut them.
You need a big Hammer to loose the wiper holder. Epoxy glue I use epoxy glue, because wielding makes corrosion. Rust from heat
My problem with the Aero wipers on the original arms is at high speed they loose contact to the windshield.
For people who know to hold a hammer this task is a 2 - 3 hour job and the look is way better!
Complete cost for the job are ~ 150 € incl. Aero blades.
Changing the alternator Tube and the Belly pan. New injectors and damper are in and pressure is OK.
NExt step is the regulators. I m pleased all parts are retour.
Handbrake refurb and clean. The button was sticky as hell. No wonder, the small cracked polyurethane bushing was inbetween the handle and spring. Some coins had been under the handle for quite some time I think... 1 Pfennig from 1950..
Went for a 100 mile highway run after installing this: Custom FPR from Greg Brown
A great upgrade. Had a stock '87 year FPR about 10-12 years old in it. More power, noticeably smoother engine at all rpm, more part throttle power and smoother application of power. Noticeably more punch in 5th at 70 when tipping in. Torque torque torque. Many smiles. Now adjusting MAF Ohms to find the new happy place.
Also recently: new set of custom Beru wires courtesy of Roger at 928sRus and upgrade to NGK BP7ES non-resistor plugs; custom gapped to 0.9mm per Ken's recommendation. All together making a very nice difference.
Finished refurb on my ebay-headlight from italy today. The paint didn't match the original grey/beige colour on the reflector but I think it went ok anyway. Gave the silicone-seal a fine scrub and a new toplayer seal. Did also save the original sticker..
Dissasembly... Surface-rust, but nothing through the seal or inside the reflector.
Nice and shiny...
The car came with a newer headlight on the right side as the left picture shows. But now, no more "blue" and "brown" eyes. Hard to see in the pictures but a very noticable apperance IRL...
It can of course be exotic on a nice husky! But it doesn't fit our nice Porsche's...
Very nice!
I also like the sitting area off to the side.
Fantastic what you have accomplished there.
Always great to see a vision become reality.
Would love to see this one day in person.
