So what did you do to your 928 Today......

Decided to roll with the custom door panels (circa 1990) from the previous owner and had them recovered. Upper window trims done as well. Kits/ materials from R. Budd. Very Happy with the results.

Took the ole reptile out today. Got more than a few thumbs up, and a very pretty lady commented on how slick the shark looked!
Got the old ABS, light on after the started rolling, so I know it's one of the sensors, or some other weird BS. How could the ABS, take a ****, just sitting? A 928, is like a wild female, ya gotta put up with their BS, for that world championship ride! But sometimes I feel like collecting the insurance!

I finally got to test the "new" radiator for oil cooler leaks, and then installed it in the car.
Slowly but surely I am making progress.
Hopefully I will be able to drive it this summer, but will still have cosmetic work to do next winter.

Changed the oil (and filter).
Royal Purple HPS 20W-50.
I also put a 12oz bottle of Swepco 502.
While doing that I noticed that both plastic caps on the driver side cam cover are leaking.
Not much for now.
Quite a relatively big job as I will need to remove the cover to change the O rings.
I changed those about 9 years ago while doing the intake and valve cover refresh.
Another future project…

Racer
After an extensive front of engine joy fest, TB/WP, all sprockets and oil seals and a ton of cleaning and other minor stuff, I fired her up. Started up first time and sounds beautiful.
Need a bit more coolant before I can take her out for a spin and check for leaks, but a huge smile on my face

Drifting
First drive of the season today. Started immediately, idled smoothly, and ran perfectly. I expected some initial hiccups in the idle and on the road but power was strong and smooth, and the auto trans shifted well, too. Chalk it up to last year's top-end refresh I guess.

Saturday, I spent more time than I care to think of, replacing and then wiring the mirror control switch...
That said, they are now both working, likely for the first time in at least a decade!
Sunday was spent chasing the charging system and gauge cluster. Tracing the wiring, the charging system tests fine until I plug in the 14 pin connector, at which point it appears to be shorted to ground (0.08v on pin 1). Next step will be checking the connections on the alternator, and potentially pulling it for testing.
On the gauge front, more are working now, but the coolant temp and speedometer are still pending.

Digital clock substitute
It wasn't today, but I recently covered over a non-functional digital clock with a battery powered analog one obtained on Amazon for $8. It's actually a nice piece - black anodized aluminum with a real glass "crystal" - and fits in rather nicely, I think. Since I also added a battery cut off switch, and keep the battery disconnected when parked, it also has the advantage of keeping time.
Also shown is my rubber coin pad - it's made from the foot pad on the driver side floor carpet (I replaced the carpets) and a piece of foam tape (as a barrier). Since I "designed out" the door coin holder, this works quite well.
