Steam cleaned the lower door panel and side panel Silverknit. Being black it had hidden a lot of dirt.

Here's pictures of my new baby and first Porsche I have great plans for her. Already on the way are all new taillights, rear and front sidemarkers, front turn signals, parking lights, and struts for the hood and trunk.

I think the PO put screen mesh on them, I've also noticed them open on pictures of other 928's, so I'm assuming they are meant to be open.

4th oil change in the temporary gearbox to get it to settle down, Kendall 80W90 did the magic. Installed Carl's OB S skid plates, but had to modify them for a non-S car. Ended up knocking the alignment out today, so off to get it aligned with the hammer again

Oil change and got the car detailed, it needed it.
Properly cleaned, boy does it look good!
Car has 238,600 MILES.

On another car I changed out the rear lower control arm, corner balanced, aligned, modified some speaker housings, power to the antenna, fixed remote locking, oil change, and fixed vacuum to transmission.

It was a fairy productive day I would say.

Default New alternator belt installed

I installed a new alternator belt after having the thing just fly off the car on the way to work last Tuesday a.m.

No real adventure here - except getting the part took just a while. Most of my wrenching is on BMWs and I'm always surprised how tight the 928 is when I get in there with the tools.

I'm always kind of glad when I get through a 928 repair. You can see why the thing was $50,000-plus back when she was new. There will never be another car like it!

Power washed the under carriage, getting ready to replace the motor mounts, with a new OEM set, I got as a present. Now to find a free day, to get it done.

Default Thought fondly of her...

Hey all! Newbie and a 1st time poster. I've had 928 on the brain for quite some time. I'm 29 and I've had my 84 928S US since I was 16 (First car, I drove this baby to high school!). Unfortunately, it spent the last 4 years in my parents garage while I jetsetted back and forth to Cali, settled back on the east coast, got married, and lived with my wife in a condo with no garage to move it to...until NOW! We recently purchased a house, complete with garage and my baby will be coming out in a week or so (the other one in my wife's stomach won't show up till May ). I needed to have a mechanic handle some things for me (not super-mechanically inclined) so the poor thing would run again...new radiator and fuel pump. I love this car and would never think of selling it, and from here on in I plan on giving her the TLC she deserves with mine own 2 hands. So I plan on searching for knowledge and know-how from all of you who seem to have all the answers and love your cars as much as I do. Looking forward to getting my hands dirty with everybody, will post pics when she (the car) arrives!!

Painted front calipers and rotors, replaced front brake pads, changed the oil and flushed the brake fluid. Productive day on the 928 front.
