darn that's a lot of powdercoating work.....($$$$$$$)

your right Brendan--the black(color) tranny/rear case will dissipate the heat better, but not sure about the coating (may retain the heat). but as you say, the pump and cooler will take care of the rest----

looking good!

Question, this is a track car/street car? Why is the entire floor covered in dynamat? That is dynamat or something similiar isnt it? Thats got to be 100lbs worth right?

How long have you been working on this thing now? Obviously this is a complete resto, i bet you cant wait to finally get this thing on the road.
The mat is Raamat, a alot less money than Dynamat, and thinner. I have determined I like a mean sounding car, but I don't want the sound to be mean to me on longer rides. Its about 50 pounds worth or less. It is a street car that will be heavily used at the track. My target weight is 3000 pounds.

Technically, its been since 2003. I bought the car as a runner. It ran great until the engine went and I just started pulling everything out of it. I built a 4.5L with PC runners, 78 cams, rebuilt heads, bottom end, etc, but then sold the engine because I decided I wanted a 5L.

Those are some great pics, more!

One of my all time favorite RL pics was when you posted the interior removal. There were little tufts in the grass all around the car, it looked like a wild animal fight.

What about some pics of something rare and never seen before. I don't know what, hmm. maybe the crankshaft perhaps?

So Brendan,

Are you reinstalling the driveline without the torquetube to create the ultimate lightweight racer?

Yeah, leave to the guy with an A/T to confuse shifter linkage for a driveline.

Some detail stuff:

The covers I made to go over the hole in the cam belt covers when I don't need a distributor (Aftermarket EFI)

What I mean when I say the block has to be smooth for cometics:

Detail on the front S4 arms:

These are just some of the highlights. I should have more pics during the engine build, wiring, and interior installation.

Yes, everyone, Stan is the gentleman that volunteered to go look at this car in, what, somewhere in Taxachussetts, or connecticut. He then had to deal with various issues when I had to have it shipped back to me. Why did I do it that way instead of buy a local car? I have no idea. But it worked and ran for at least a few months before I took it apart.

No Stan, its nothing like you saw it. The paint was peeling, btw, because it was sprayed on with no prep over the other colors on there. Amazingly, this car was a beautiful silver when it was born. It may have been one of the first 50 or so 78s made.
No sunroof, but it did have (no longer) rub strips.
