Default 5 year project 78

Pics of my 78 project

(I have never been able to change the title of this thread to show properly on the main page - the crank is long gone)

Did you buy this new or used? I'm not asking if it's ever been used (i assume it hasn't) just wondering how many hands this has been in...

This thread hijack is useless without pics. I would love to what that look like. When are you going to start the "Official 'X' days until Brendan gets this on the road" post. With pics, please.

For some reason the word clandestine comes to mind....

Its a newly painted (well, 2- no- 3 years ago), Powdercoated suspension, Big Brake, S4 suspensioned, Powdercoated Transmission case and TT'd roller right now. I have an entire hard drive of pics from when it was a pockmarked kind-of red peeling paint 78 with a blown motor. The time will come, but I want it to be a complete story.

But here are a few pics:

Rear end partially assembled (well, thats most of it actually)

Trans box before assembly:

Rear arm during assembly:

I think I have been asked this before. I can count them I guess. Anybody know what the Scats are?

nice upper links

did you have those made or was someone selling them at some point?

not a huge fan of the blue, but i love the detail, i like that the half shafts were painted to match, nice work. Why not a blue transmission case?

The blue is darker in person. Uh, more manly.
Its a hammer-tone blue, with darker specs. The CV joints themselves are silver hammer-tone.
The case was done earlier, and I was going for a color, but a color that would shed heat. 78 trans, so with the S4 engine and boost, it will be under...some stress.

Crank is still for sale. And I think it will be for a while.

Brendan Scat made both 6 and 8 cwt versions.

So which is this?

wont the powder coating reduce the aluminum case's ability to shed heat through its fins?

Personally I struggle with cleaning the bits of rubber off my car after a track day, but I am definitely not a clean freak. This looks great, not sure if I went to all that trouble I would track such a setup. I am much too lazy to spend enough time keeping it looking that nice. I have the same thoughts when I look at Tass' track car. To each his own. You are certainly doing a very nice job!

I have a Scat 928 Intl designed crank, if Brenda's is also, then as I recall:
6 cwt, 5.85 rods preferably with a relatively light bob weight
